i had a race with a GTO off the light s, there was nothing in it to be honest, he was pushing 280 mine is prob about 260ish it was kinda neck and neck. when we both stopped at the next set of lights, his clutch was smoking big time because he launched it so hard !

Ive never driven a GTO but they dont have a good rep as far as the driving experience goes.

They are also big lard busses, they weigh about 1.8 tonnes so you should easily have him unless he is seriously tuned.  Im surprised he thinks its too wet, as with his 4WD this is the perfect time for him to try and get one up on you!

they are heavy but i cant understand why i didnt cain him, i just had the edge on him ! I know how to drive my rex before anyone says anything, i was chatting to the gto driver at the next set of ligths an he did said he had a few things done to it

yeah i think they are, mines 340bhp so would have beaten him, a standard rx should just beat it being a lot lighter

3.0 Mitsu twin turbo good for 1000hp with the right mods.. dont underestimate staight line speed.

BUT  What fun is traffic light racing.

ZERO. IMO

Do a timed run on a twisty road in the mountains.
Embarrass the shit out of him and see how slow he really is.

There was one at the track the other day when I was there.
There was soooo much body roll I thought he was going to roll it ever time he went round the corner.

Not good handling.

But this one is fast.
No match for the RE-Amemiya Rx7 of similar spec though.

I have whooped them before. They are as heavy as anything and believe it or not more unreliable than a rx7.

They are 4WD though so traction off the line would be pretty good I think.

Thats true, but many people arnt brutal enough to launch them properly.  Its harsh holding on the limiter and dropping, but gives good results.
