hi folks,

i know of another 2 fd\'s in my town except for myself, one of which looks to be \'abandoned\'!

i first noticed it about 6 months ago in a dark car park and thought nothing more of it,drove past the other day and the car is still sitting in the same position which got me curious,

so today i went for a quick look. i didnt want to look a knob so i didnt hang around but had a quick glance.
its dark green (almost black) and is covered in the green gunge \'i aint bothered cleaning my car look\' the brakes are all rusted and the tax disc in the window expired in 2003!!,
its a j plate, looks completely stock and is in a pub car park therefore on private property \'so to speak\'.
i did get thinking if it would be worth offering a few beer tokens to the owner (if i could track them down) to take it on as a project.

what sort of problems would i expect to have with it?
what would you reckon its worth?
ill take some dodgy camera phone pics later to show you,

Leave your name and number on a card and stick it under the wiper blade.  Cant hurt to try!

RemarkLima

Has it got a number plate?

IIRC you can request for a V5c from the DVLA, for about £25. They will then try to contact the person who the car was last registered to to make sure this is OK.

If it\'s OK or if they don\'t respond in a certain time then they\'ll send a new V5 in your name... However you\'d need the chassis number and such like as well I think, so would need to get into the engine bay.
Montego Blue 94 R2 FD3S... Bling not included.

Just go and speak to the pub landlord, they are bound to know the details on it else they would have shifted it ages ago.

update, went to look, it does have a number plate,

its dark blue, auto, stereo missing and ignition area all ripped out and.....

it was unlocked! so getting into the engine bay wont be a problem.
took some pics but cant load them onto my photobucket account. anyone know how to change the file type to jpeg or similar?

travellinbob

Report it to the fuzz mate. It sounds like either stolen and dumped or stolen and recovered. Either way you might not want ot be seen nosing about too much without first making contact with the owner. I ma not saying you might be a dodgy looking guy but if I had gotten back my fd after it being stoled I would be very touchy about seeing anyone else checking it out.
If you go about it right then you could be onto a cracking bargain too!
 Keep us informed.

Ricco_04

Suppose you could HPI the numberplate - If you do this on your mobile then it\'s less than a tenner?  Not how to do this though.

The paintwork looks reasonably (sp?) clean and certainly not over 3 years of grime!?
