Took delivery of my new Red RX8 today. :D
If I can make one recommendation get as many accessories as you can afford - they look great.

And if you can\'t afford many - get the illuminated gearshift it looks cool:cool but the front air dam skirt and rotary crest are worthwhile too

I got these
Rear underdeflector, front air dam skirt, side air dam skirt, aluminium scuff plate set, red luxury car mat set, Boot liner, Trackstar, two tone leather steering wheel, red leather gear knob, red leather handbrake, red leather front and rear console lids, aluminium air vent bezel, piano black centre panel trim, mp3 player, sports exhaust, rotary crest brushed aluminium, air outlet fins brushed aluminium, b-pillar trim, sat-nav, two tone leather interior  - And I wouldn\'t give up a single one.

I\'ll post pics as soon as I get a chance.

Saw a blue one at the dealer - not bad but red rules

Now all I gotta do is 1000 miles in 4days :evillaugh

Congratulations on the car.  You will really enjoy it.

Let me know how the boot liner works out.  Does it provide any improvement over the standard boot and stop cases tipping down into the well?

Regards

My car is GREAT!!!! Run in already cause I can\'t stop driving it :D

How anyone can criticise this car is beyond me. It goes plenty fast enough for me. Had a nice little run with my friend following me in his WRX STI. Yes I can confim in 6th 140mph = 7000RPM :D and it feels rock solid.

I got 19mpg for the tank including the 140mph, which was not done in britain of course ;)  Fuel consumption below 20mpg don\'t bother me none when the car goes like this.

Everyone is extremely envious and I love it. Noticed a lot of my friends offering to look after my car now.

The boot liner just lines the well, so there still is a well. Found the well pretty useful for small items though which would normally roll all over the boot.

The RX8 is extremely practical, have ferried people and christmas presents back and forth no problem. Even had my 6\' 5" mate in the back seat with a 5\' 6" in front. He was saying things like there\'s loads of room in the back - personally I prefer sitting in the drivers seat. :cool

Also tested Sat Nav - works well except for one small encounter with a tunnel under a bridge in Darlington which was about the size of the RX8 :eek But other than that it works better than expected within the confines of GPS military induced inaccuracy, as it has a gyroscope to detect turns and takes info on speed etc to keep you on track. As long as you have half a brain you can use it no problem.

The MP3 player is great - I can get 150 songs (with titles displayed on LED screen as they are played) on one disc no problem. Thats 10 - 15 cds on one CD :D I never seem to hear repeats for ages. The BOSE Audiopilot is great too. The system was well worth the extra couple hundred £.

Really like remote (as in "on keyless remote")  boot opener asit is handy for slipping things in boot if u r not planning to leave.

Big Bridgestone RE040\'s don\'t like Ice though, had some interesting sideways movement on the ice the other morning but that\'s what big tyre\'s do. Have found the RE040\'s to be pretty good in the wet, I won\'t be dumping them for S03\'s or P Zero Rosso\'s just yet.
Though one of those two will be the replacement for these tyres when they wear down.

Will post pics when I get time, I promise. Just hectic holiday period , work and continually driving my RX8 together add up to little free time :p

I\'ve ordered my Rx-8 (HP) a few weeks ago, delivery beginning of July. (estimated)
Titanium Grey with black/brown leather interior, navigation (standard), Bose sound system (standard), glass sunroof (option), 2-tone gearshifter with lightning (option), 2-tone hand-brake leaver (option), MP3 player (option), Sport mirrors (option), gaspumps for bonnet (option), mobile-carkit holder (option), rubber carpets (option).

I\'ve read that you also use the MP3-player.
Does it work well ? Does the player read all types of MP3-formats ? If the title-name of the track is longer than the availible caracters of the display => is the text beiing scrolled around ? Does the player read also RW-discs ? Is there a max. of tracks on the disc that the player is able to read ?

I\'m also thinking about the sports exhoust...
Are you satisfied with it ?
What\'s the sound like ? Better than the original box ?
Is there improvement in performance ?

Awaiting your info.
Thanks in advance !

What\'s the sound like ? Better than the original box ?It works very well. I haven\'t had any mp3 files it hasn\'t been able to read yet. If the title is longer you can scroll it yourself using the text/audio cont knob, but it doesn\'t auto scroll. You can change what is displayed (artist, title, album, track time) by using disp button. Haven\'t tried cd-rw disc yet so don\'t know, does it matter - cd-r\'s are cheap. Max tracks seems to be limited by size of cd so far.

Sport\'s exhaust = bigger tail pipes. That\'s about the only difference I can tell, doesn\'t seem to my humble ears to be much difference in sound (exhaust audiophiles correct me if I\'m wrong). In terms of performance according to american forum if u have complete free-flow exhaust u only gain about 5HP -  so answer is probably no.

Phew that\'s a lot of questions. :)

Here we go:

I deserve a drink after that. :guinness

Hope that helps

Blimey Deathknell, is there anything you didn\'t order!! :D

Watte, are you definitely getting black/brown interior? Apparently it\'s not available for the UK, as one of the users of the OC forum ordered it, and got a phone calll from Mazda (?) to tell them they couldn\'t have it, as it was only for mainland Europe (or in other words the whole world, except the UK :reallymad ). Best double check with your dealer.

EDIT: Just thought, you might not be in the UK. If not, then please ignore!!

Glenn Butcher

Geess - you guys in the UK get so many more extra\'s.  We don\'t get much here in Oz really.

Post some pics. up when you get a mo. Deathknell.
Thanks,
