well i\'m a dick. killed my 2nd rx7. mashed it into a wall after some slippery slidey ice action. whilst showing it to a prospective buyer, no less.

/goes to buy a bus-pass.

insurance claim reporting are closed at weekends (wish they\'d tell you about these type of things when selling you the cover) so had the car recovered to garage and will have to wait till monday for the official assessment verdict, but i have litle doubt they will even think twice. fresh wgt engine rebuild with only 2k miles on it too. if it\'s undamaged (couldn\'t lift the bonnet to check, as it was stuck) i may see if i can buy it back. what do you reckon the engine might be worth (stock twin-turbo with 6 months warranty remaining)?

Ouch! sorry to hear about the above.

I did a similar thing the other week, was super icey tried to brake at a junction but nope, the car just carried on out into the main rd then stopped. Thank god nothing was coming though.

Ahhh Man, Your not having much luck.

Look on the bright side you\'ll get paid out off the Insurance and won\'t have to mess about trying to sell it.

How bad is it? Is it not Repairable?

yeah, thankfully we both got out ok which is the important bit.

i\'ve spoken to the insurance today and they just asked if there is any particular garage i want it taking to for a repair quote, lol? i was expecting them to just ask where it was and send their assessor to look at it, and tell me it would be written off. so maybe a bit of hope...

although if it does end up written off i will lose out. it was insured with value of Â£5000 as that\'s what i originlly paid for it when it had done 52k miles with no rebuild. since then i\'ve took the total spending on it to over Â£9000. and if my last experience with insurance companies valuing RX7s is anything to go by, i will probably get offered Â£4000 or something ridiculous like that
