sayin that if you have non sequentials they kick in at the same time. spos it would b easier to map if youv only got one turbo n less parts to repair too so less likely to go rong. iv got the power fc wiv boost control kit wudnt i need to change the boost control kit for another boost controller!?

jammy_uv

oh and on the BNR turbos is the downpipe the same?

davyv

What about turbo technics high flow twins. What power could you get out of them with the right setup.

The website for BNR is http://www.bnrturbos.com/.

I\'d agree with the grizzler regardinging twins verses single.  It\'s really what you like.  I\'ve gone the BNR route because I love the kick of the second turbo and I think that twins turbos are part of what makes an RX7 suh a top car.  I wanted more power but I\'m not after a 500bhp drag car.  I believe that diveability is better with the twins (but thats a moot point).  I also just wanted to be different.

Bang for buck, go single, but I reckon 99 spec twins or the BNRs with the right mods will give good power increases.  I\'ve opted for 1300cc secondary injectors (which can be purchased from the RX7 store for £300 for the pair).  Again if you want monster bhp, you\'d buy a new fuel rail and 1600cc injectors, it all depends what you want from your car.

well fuelling wise i have at hand a beautiful HKS AIC controller with 4 injector harnesses!! they are running that on there matt balck 800break jobber!!

To be honest i dont need it, i wana get rid. So if anyone interested i have one to sell make me an offer and it can be yours this week.

I agree wiv twins makin the rx7 an RX7! plus boost times will be quicker rather than such a build before the kick.

I also forgot to mention that when you order BNRs you need to send your down pipe, so it can be modded for the new turbos.  You send your old turbos to BNR as they reuse the \'cores\'.  Other than that they are brand new.

nicksterrx7

Y pipe, not down pipe.

jammy_uv

oh yeh or you could just buy the efini 99 spec y-pipe cus that apparently works with it. so assume the downpipe is still the same and can fit as regular?

jammy_uv

ah yes also need to buy performance cat Right now. So who do i go for that. My car is still off the road. Im going to buy the apex seals, oil rings etc etc myself but decent stuff preferably mazdaspeed cus i checkd on all there stuff and they do 3mm carbon ceramic apex seals which seams reliable.

Jit

theres nothing wrong with stock mazda....what setup exactly are you planning on running?

jammy_uv

BNR twins preferable. Hopefully run around 400rwhp i reckon. which should be gud on the twins if all in doubt i\'ll go with single. but i wana build it more for street/track so it can take a bit of stick. its got cusco 4-point roll cage, hks coilovers, mazdaspeed strut buyin anti-roll bars for it soon. il get some pics on soon.

Just takin ideas.

jammy_uv

i wana make my engine fault proof. so ther is no messin about done and dusted then jus ready for playin with

Jit

i dont really think you NEED to fork out on mazdaspeed ceramic 3 piece apex seals! Not to say they wont do the job, but IMO its slightly overkill. Why not look aout heer or ask a few of the boys with higher powered cars what apex seals they are running....i highly doubt many of them are running those 3mm ceramics though!

jammy_uv

no...im jus at work n lookin into it more. Seams to me like majority of people use 2mm dual spring ceramic apex seals help for better clearance.

I found a website, well company in US, that do a master rebuild kit and explain a lot of crap.

$1289 fopr the pasts and has a chart of what you would get plus explainin whats gud and wots not.

check it if you havent seen it already.

Think majority of UK rebuild experts will charge you for parts that they quote UK prices but how many of them get them from uk? labour cost works out not too bad but rebuild parts from MAZDA is pricey.

Jit

well as I understand it the 2 piece seals offer better gas sealing than the single piece for pretty obvious reasons.
Also, there are many other companies like RA or atkins, hurley what make apex seals. but crucially none of them have put anywhere near as much r&d into them than mazda has and thats essentially what you are paying for!
your link doesnt work for me, but i cant see 1289 USD buying many mazda parts
