Any one know how much of a pounding an EGI box can poke up with? I ran a stock box with my 190-200hp EGi a few years bak with no problems, was just wondering how well one would cope with around 230-250hp with around 180-190ft/lb ? Anyone had any experiance?   I know a TII box would be better but they are not a straight fit onto the 13B as the shaft is different.

 Thanks in advance :wave

I don\'t know about the N/A box but i have run about 300rwhp through a T2 box, they can be swaped quite easly but you will need the Flywheel to (maybe the starter??) becouse the Bell housing is bigger.

You may be able to swap the Bell housing to save changing Flywheels etc but if you use the T2 stuff you can take advantage of the bigger t2 Clutch.

try Ian Duncan he has raced an EGI and was running a bit more than 200hp IIRC

Grizzly

Is\'nt it more of an Issue with the Diff?

MikeLMR

all depends on what you use it for, circuit racing is easier on diffs than drag racing for example

Hi,Brett
Very good box for 230/250hp as the engine is an 13Bbp with 48 IDA weber, steel fly/w along with standard diff with LSD and ran it on the road to the racing meeting as well!.( standard box/diff=save petrol)
Turbo II gearbox( pet hate that mazda box), well!, what I say about that!!,
2nd to 3rd gearing is too long as engine\'rev back off too low and it\'s suit Turbo cos the troque help it along
Try abuse it and end of the day, your arm will be fcuk and not the g/box.:Laugh

I may be hatching a plan for something, just going to try planning it out this time rather than modding in an ad hoc way :yes

I\'ve been amazed at a Mazda and it stuck! ;)

Standard clutch diff eg 3.9 from the state and swap over to 4.1.
Very good, but understeering, trying get it oversteering by increase the pounding of the 2.25 coil over in the rear.
At this time the pounding e.g 350 lb front, 300lb rear, too hard with Toyo888R
but good for kumhoV700 which is still the best tyre ever!!.
