There are times I love cars and times I hate them and at the moment I hate my car (well the engine anyways ;) ).

Car was sitting in the cold and wet for over 3 months and won\'t start, brand new optima so plenty of current to start it but it won\'t catch.

I\'m going to pull the plugs next if I can get a socket to fit as none of my deep ones are deep enough and see if it\'s flooded. I only want to start it to drain the oil.

Dammit!

Tow start it!! Trust me.  Before I had my rebuild I had this loads, and the best and quickest way is by tow starting.  20mph in 2nd, its burns the excess fuel and starts straight up

Problem is it\'s stuck in the garage and is SORN as well :(

Will just be damp, if you have been turning it over alot proberly flooded too.

Warm the plugs up or put some fresh in and it should go.

mine sat for ages, tried the whole taking plugs out, warming them etc - didnt work for me.  Tried everything - jump starting worked almost immediately!!  Maybe you would have better luck?

The sorn thing?  Isnt it ok to be towed when on Sorn?

Nope, I got fined for rolling my car (with no engine in) onto the road (well two wheels on the pavement) while i was sorting all the junk out in the garage.

Was not a Happy bunny!!!! cost me £400 becouse i kicked off and they dragged it out as much as they could.

So i would say its not worth getting Pinched Driving your car with No Tax or Insurance running or not (you would not be able to walk for a Month by the time they had finished with you)

I\'ll go buy me a socket for sparkplugs as I found I don\'t have one :( been cranking it but with my foot to the floor to stop it pumping fuel. Then I\'ll do the whole removing the EGI (?) fuse and turn it over without the plugs in and hopefully it won\'t be oil that comes out!

Cheers folks :)

you could try taking the plugs out and leave them out for a day or so then put them back in and see if it starts

Got some new plugs so once  I\'ve got them out I\'ll see how it goes :)
