As per the title - does anyone know - has anyone got or used gas struts on a Turbo II bonnet ?

If so what make?  And any bad points from experience ?

Many thanks in advance...

Prof. :cheers

I will.  I\'ve seen several going cheap on eBay  (I must learn to stay away from there) - not sure if they would fit an RX7 - but it doesn\'t look like the hardest thing to make one fit.

I was looking at the ones for MX-5\'s - company in Germany were doing some for about £20 the pair - finished in black as well. I should think a TII ally bonnet isn\'t too much heavier than an MX5 one ?

I can then get rid of the prop at the front and hide all my relays and things behind a nice ally panel. :driving

they still work with the relays and prop in place

i spotted them on ebay aswell :D

its been very quiet on FC parts recently though :(

tell me about it.  I am trying to source a water injection solenoid as well - but they seem to have all but dissapeared now.

Yep. I got some on my T2.

Not hard to do at all, I bought a Polished alloy Lifter kit from E-bay (off a VW tuner) the instructions where easy enough.

grinder

oohh water injection - now thats a nice toy :D

I have most of what I need - coolingmist kit - but with a solenoid valve I can have 2d mappable water injection :D

No - going for a full on water system.

Inspired by Brett\'s DIY mister unit for the TMIC, I am going to fit a couple of sprayers for the uprated intercooler, but also a full WI system, the solenoid is just so I can map the water injection duty cycle according to boost / rpm.  This should make the water last a little longer.

Both systems will be run from a large ally tank in the boot - so this will be a water only system - not water / meths.

Should take care of heat soak and charge temps :driving ;)

Hark at me hijacking my own thread !
