hi guys, just got back home this evening and on my way back started having a few problems. most noticable thing firstly was a slight loss in power, not much just struggling a little running through boost after 4k...... second thing was it was making a rather loud wooshing sound, rather like a blow off valve (i dont have one though). now i know when its cold weather you can usually hear the intercoolers sucking but it was rather louder than normal and the fact that im loosing power means something must be wrong.
only mods the car has is an apexi ecu and nurspec cat back with decat. other than that the car is stock.
would be a great help for quick replies as im off to the alps in her on monday, or maybe not in this case but would love to still take her.

cheers

You have popped a pipe off for sure.  Check all the jubilee clips on the hoses from the turbos.  I am sure you will find something has popped off somewhere.

yer i have scanned the whole car, (only in the dark) so will check again in the morning, everything seems sounds as a pound pipe wise and i have only just had all the vaccume hoses done so i know they couldnt have split.
found this section on here about turbos, was thinkin maybe it could be a air bypass valve???

FD3SNuttah

had this problem myself. it was the turbo hose going to the y pipe.

Not sure what you mean by "you can usually hear the intercoolers sucking". As NUTTAH says, the rubber coupling between the y-pipe and the boost pipe that runs down to the front of the engine has been known to split. If you\'re getting a hissing noise on-boost then it\'s most likely a boost leak.

ok well i have just checked the y-pipe and they seem fine, they have been replaced but i double checked anyway.
has anyone else had similar problems with it?

gmogle

Mine was the pipe going to the dump valve.

Check that too.
