I may be wrong but I think it would be difficult, in the event of a total loss, to replace my car.

It\'s pretty standard but being late 98 there doesn\'t seem to be that many around to choose from should I need to replace it.

So after talking with Clive we arrived at a replacement value and I first approached A Plan, they don\'t do agreed valuations only maket value.

I then rang Eggar Lawson [Competition Car Insurance] who I am with now and they will accept an agreed valuation as long as I supply a letter from MRC and quite a lot of photos so that\'s no problem.

Interestingly the original quote went up £75 to accommodate the agreed value.

So if you think replacing your car would be difficult, this may be worth considering.

Sky Insurance have done the same for me for an extra £35.... on top of the £700 I pay it\'s a good deal I think!

Certainly worthwhile IMO.

I guess it\'s the usual - who you talk to - they should all have the same training shouldn\'t they, yeh right.

Same with AON classic policy, I sent some pics along with a form from a garage with the market value, and was added for free.:Typing

The last post is interesting

A Plan used the phrase \'Market Value\' not \'Agreed Value\'

Is there a difference, I prefer Agreed

Market value is just that a normal policy payout where you end up arguing with the claims department. Agreed value you will normally get a certificate stating the agreed value, which is what you get should you be unlucky enough to claim or with my policy i\'ve two options either full payout at agreed value or 80% payment of agreed value plus salvage rights on the car.

Sky gave me an agreed value of £7k based on 4 pics of the car.
