why why oh why does it not start when cold???
always starts fine when warm, no coolent loss had new rebuild 1000 miles ago dident start earlyer today so took egi out wound it over for 10 secs tryed again and nothing!!!

went to pub watched football, though id try again and boom fires up straight away runs fine, slight oil leak but no coolent loss, fixed a vac pipe one way valve the other day thought that may cure it as it was running rich.

i dont know anymore spent a fortune on the thing i may be selling it soon as i am getting fed up and cant be arsed with all the problems, since buying its been one thing after the other. so may be a cheep rx on the market soon

Could be your plugs. Do you know what heat range your running. I would try putting in a couple of 7\'s unless you have them already.

Try this cold start procedure ( if you have the std ecu ).

Foot flat.
Now turn the key and keep the foot flat.
Momentarily it will sound like its firing, but keep foot flat.
After about a second, let go pedal completely.
Even if it starts firing, keep the key turned until you see a good 1k on the rev counter.

:( :(

my FD has leaking oil from somewhere near oil filter.

there are afew small black colour hoses near the filter that are covered in oil and underneath the car as well and some of it has dropped onto the floor. car runs ok, i checked the engine oil level and it seems to be ok.

any suggestions where this oil might be leaking from?
