IMPORT CONVERSION

Speedo Converter / Delimiter Installation Instructions For:

MAZDA RX7 92> (All Models)

STEP 1 - Chip Preparation

1.   Take the converter chip and crimp 2 M3 ring terminals to the ends of the YELLOW & BLACK wires.
Crimp bullet terminal plugs on the KMH in and MPH out wires on the chip.

STEP 2 - Speedo Conversion

1.   Disconnect the vehicle battery and then carefully remove the instrument panel from the dash.
2.   (OPTIONAL) Next remove the clear glass screen from the instrument panel and find where is says K/M/H on the Speedo clock face. Apply a piece of black tape to cover up the K so the display reads M/H.
3.   Now replace the clear glass and turn over the clocks.

Undo the lower mounting screw on the rear of the oil pressure gauge marked IG+ and connect the ring terminal on the YELLOW (POSITIVE +)wire to It.
Undo the left hand mounting screw on the rear of the oil pressure gauge marked ‘GND’ and connect the ring terminal on the BLACK (GROUND -)wire to it.
Locate the central 12 pin instrument panel plug and cut the 2nd from top, r/h row, ‘Yellow/YELLOW’ (or possibly Blue) wire about 3cm from connector. Crimp a male bullet terminal onto the connector end of the cut and a female bullet terminal into the loom end of the cut.
Now plug the respective bullet terminals on the chip wires (KMH IN) - (MPH OUT) into bullet terminals you just crimped on the loom and plug.
Refit the instrument panel and test.

STEP 3 - Delimiting

Delimiting takes place with the fitment of converter chip on all RX7 92> Models.

Reconnect the vehicle battery, Conversion / Delimit is now complete

Hiya,

I\'m thinking of getting a converter chip off ebay, but looking at your instructions I have one question...

Would the disconnection of the battery cause the ECU some problems?  I have a mapped Apexi ECU.

Would it easily recover when the battery is reconnected?

cheers  :cheers

Will not affect the ecu 1 iota.

Think of the Apexi like you\'re computer hard drive, if you pull the plug does that lose it\'s stored data ?

DC-TYPER

doesnt the apexi delimit the car anyway?  no need for the chip?

cool, thanks.

I was just wondering about the ECU trying to relearn when it woke up again or something weird.

phew.
