So, a further question.

If the seller has no idea (unlikely but possible I guess).

I assume it\'s possible to identify a UK or Jap spec car from the chassis number ?

If so what codes can I expect to see on UK or Jap to identify the difference ?

most obvious thing as i recall is UK FD\'s will have a sun roof. There\'s probably a whole list & some small print with that but easiest way i\'m aware of

Not sure about the chassis numbers, but if it is less than 10 years old and an import then it should have documentaion of an SVA test, mine is an import and although it has been converted into MPH and de restricted it still heads the millage in ks.  Also would have an aftermarket fog light and switch.

There is probably a much easier way to tell but i dont know it!  UK 7s are quite rare as there was only 150 odd made i believe.

Hello,

UK RX-7\'s will have a UK style number plate as well as leather seats, air conditioning, cruise control and sunroof.

Also, if it\'s an import I think the V5 will indicate that it was first registered outside of the UK.

Cheers,

Hi Scratch,

There were officially 124 cars brought into Britain by Mazda that we would call U/K cars officially designated European spec.

At a glance as someone as said these Eurocars have rectangular rear number plates with fog lamps either side, although there are a couple of cars over here that have been \'converted\'
but the real real way to tell them apart is that the chassis numbers on these cars all start with
JMZ FD where as all the Japanese cars just start with FD whatever the year.

Hope this helps.
All the best Clive
