Does the Handle still move with the same amount of Resistance (like the drivers side) or is it very Loose?

Also if you use the Key to open it does that fel normal?

I work in a Body shop and its fairly comon for the Little clips that hold the Operating rods in place to brake leaving the Rod free to fall off, you can usaly tell if this has happend though the Key/Handles/Inside lock will go loose.

Also an Old Fav (but proberly not in your case) is the Striker becomes loose or left loose and the door is Shut, this jams up the Show and results in a pain in the rear to get back open.

You are using the right Key :) I\'ve also seen customers come in that have had there Central locking go down and they can\'t open the boot/Passenger door, turns out they have had a new Drivers door Lock and Ign and the Keys are diffrent ;)

No not loose at all

key doesnt fit due to the plastic  light thing being broken inside (never caused a problem with opening before)

Basicly the Part that is Bolted to the 1/4 (Striker), if that becomes loose it will jam the show up when the Door is Shut, Usaly if you mess about with it and give it a Good push whilst pulling the Handle it will open.

I know this will sound Dumb but could it be stuck the the Rubber seal or some thing like that? Does the door move at all when you pull the Handle?

Doesnt budge at all, I took the ddor handle off and had a look all seems to move how it should when the handle is pulled. IS the striker the lever thing that moves when you lift the handle?

ANy ideas on how i can open the door without destroying may door card?

I\'ll ask the powers that be at work and get back to you.

Seems the lock Mech is goosed, have a look at the Drivers side, does it look Dry (lack of Lube)? maybe its just stuck?

Ed_RX7

mechanisim seems fine....just doesnt seem to release the latch at the door for some reson.....could that be stuck.

I had it before where the long screw holding the door card on had come half out before and stopped the door opening. Took me a while to find from inside.

Just a thought

Ed_RX7

How did you get to it from the inside?

I spoke to the Guys at work today, They said if its the lock mech your Buggered and will need to take it to a body shop, but to get the Pad of its a pain but can be done, Usaly the Lock does\'nt go Dicky for no reason, it could have Rusted up but it would do odd things like Stick open so it won\'t shut or have rusty marks under it, but what every one said is has it had any work Recently? Have they left the Lock loose?

You can get the Pad off If you take the seat out you can get to most of the screws the only real buggers are the bottom ones which can be got out with a Screw driver bit and a Small Spanner (that fits oviously)

Once the Door pad is off you can get to the mech from inside the door but the guys said there still isn\'t alot you can do, The whole idea is for the lock to be tamper proof, Buts it got to be worth a shot?

Have you searched the US forums etc to see if anyone has come across this before?

COUNTZERO1978

I had the same thing happen & the cable/rod from the solenoid 2 the lock had broken internally the cable had frayed & snapped then jammed!.

Ed_RX7
