I believe the hardest part is the pressing out of old bushes and the pressing in of the new ones.

Take a look at http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30453" target="_new">this related thread for the manual pages that detail the rear bushes.

I have heard of people doing this without the aid of a machine and using techniques like freezing the bushes to make them a bit smaller etc.

Then of course, once all back together, you\'d probably need to get the geometry laser aligned again.

Yep depends on what you are swapping out, some of the rear bushes need over 6 tonne of force to press out. Alot of the small stuff about 2 tonnes. You can do it with threaded bar and an air ratchet to remove and then a socket to repress in.

I broke a no.4 vice (150mm jaw) trying to do it with a vice. Ended up using the press at work (10 tonnes)

Best to take the arms off yourself and run it all down to someone with a press. I can imagine someone trying to use their body weight to pop them out... that\'d make a good You tube vid!
Cheers
