is this cruise control

is this the cruise control unit.  it is located on the drivers side right near the bulk head.
if so it is fine to get rid of it isnt it as it is no longer conected

That is the CC unit, I had one in my old car (Type X),  Im not sure on the removal procedure though.

Certainly part of it, it\'s got a cable linked to the throttle butterflies.

it is all disconected from the throttle, just wondered if there is any reason i cant just rip it out.  as it aint conected/working and it looks like poo.

Well sounds like you\'ve done the mechanical bit, i imagine it\'s just wiring to disconnect and remove now.
