I\'ve been told that I can\'t just change the front pads, as I\'ve done on all my other cars, by pushing back the calipers due the ABS sensor.

I\'ve been told that I should clamp the flexible brake pipe with mole grips and undo the bleed nipple before opening the calipers - so any excess fluid will escape through the nipple and not bne forced back up the pipe.

Sounds strange to me - never done it like that b4. My other car has ABS and i just pushed the calipers apart.

Any thoughts?

I started with nothing and I have most of it left

John, I have changed the pads on my FD just by pushing back the pistons back.

Just do it slowly.

I had your pads in this morning Dan.  I almost came to a stop when I thought I was just going to slow softly :D

Old pads were almost dead which probably didnt help - these should be nicer for monday :)

Oh yes, have some coilovers on now so its also lower and stiffer :D

And there was me not going to do anything with it...
