Respray!!

Hi everyone

Does anyone know of a cheap respray shop i want my car spraying white and need it doing on the cheap if you know what i mean i live in the lincoln area but will travel if anyone can help it wud be appreciated thanks guys and gals

Becarfull using words like "Cheap" if you are not carfull you will get a Cheap Job.

You are better going of Reputation then get the price down by Striping all the Bits off and building it back up to drop some Hours of The Labour.

What exactly would you strip off the car to reduce the labour from the painter?

Well recently i have painted a car for a Customer who striped all the exteria trim off,Doors where off,Gate,Bonnet and bumpers.

You are best talking to the Guy who will be doing the job about how he would like it striping (being a painter myself you should agree the price with the Estimater then speak to the guy who is going to be doing the job so he knows what you want and you know what he is planning to do and how). The way i look at it a repaint should be as it was done in the factory no masking lines round door shuts and stuff like bumpers and close fitting stuff like lights should be off so you don\'t get a paint build up (which looks realy bad)

What sort of a repaint are you planning? there are lots of diffrent levels, they start at 4-500 for a back street garage to paint it with exery thing still on and masked up this way is realy Poor and you will get paint flaking and poor Cure problems, the 700-1200 range is the most Common this is where the car is left fairly built up but with stuff like side repeaters,Arials etc taken off. Then you get into the 1500-3000 range where you realy want to be for a good job, this is properly striped with no glass in doors etc get painted inside and out and is polished to a Good standard and then you get the Fanatic leuge 5-10k this is Bare metal strip to a shel sort of a repaint it will last longer and you will oviously not have problems with Repairs sinking in a years time etc.
