Hiya,
been a while since I tended to hang out here, didn\'t have the time in the evenings ever since work started blocking access to the site :Laugh.

Anyway, the vert wasn\'t getting much use in the past three months and when I fire it up two weeks ago (in neutral, not using the clutch) it didn\'t want to fire the first time. I found this a bit odd as it normally catches within a couple of seconds and then runs. On the second attempt it misfired once and then fired up but kept hunting between 500 and about 1800rpm for a minute or so before it settled down to about 1200rpm on an ice cold engine. Once I got it moving the idle went up to about 2000 and then slowly down as it normally does. Didn\'t think much of it as the car had stood for at least six weeks (I know, I know...) and went for a 100+ mile drive. Car behaved as well as usual.

Unfortunately today (two weeks later) it did exactly the same on startup and this time I also noticed that it wasn\'t chucking out any oily smoke on startup, which it normally did if it stood for a week. I also noticed that the engine is using barely any oil - IIRC they\'re supposed to use about 1l/1000 miles and I have probably put in about 200ml since the last service, which was about 2k ago.

I\'m beginning to get a tad worried about the engine which is a tad neg as it was rebuilt by RoTechniks about 3k ago. I\'ll get them to check it over fairly soon anyway as I need to get the aircon fixed but does anybody here recognise the symptoms?

It\'s getting worse as it\'s now starting to hunt when it sat for something like half an hour or so. And it really didn\'t want to fire and keep running this morning.

Arse. I think we all know what that means.
