My car started yesterday to do the 3000rpm hesitation, I thought it was the warmup hesistation so I ignored it... however... now the car is acting odd after being driven for a while....

The car is like blurping... I don\'t know how to explain it... its like its choking around 3000rpm... and it makes a slow rev increase...... until readline even.

I checked the first turbo PSI at kick, it hit from vaccume 18 to about... 0 o_O, didn\'t even boost?! wtf?! this only occurs when I get that choking hesitation... and the turbos don\'t seem to kick properly while the car is blearting around...

Does anybody have any ideas what it is...? Its making me worry a lot...
I also have partually smooth& lumpy idleing... it will idle smooth for a while and go lumpy for like 30 seconds, then smooth again...

Tempratures seem ok, Underhood is hot as usual... coolant seems ok.. I dunno o_o I\'m scared to drive it incase I cause it a new problem... ;_;

Oh btw, the choking is like its burning more air then fuel.. it sounds like getting a fan which is rotating at high speed and getting a small piece of paper and holding it against the blades... that kind of slapping noise thing...

Please let me know what you think
Thanks a lot everyone in advance, all help is highly appretiated.

Sounds like a duff solenoid to me...either that or a boost leak from the 2nd turbo, this is a very common problem with FD\'s not a major worry. Just do a trace and make sure the main pipes from the turbos to the throttle body make sure they are all connected, if that fails check the black box just above the front strut bar in middle of the engine :there should be 2 hoses connected make sure both sides are ok, other than that your best bet is to take it to a tuner and let them have a look  :)

Thanks a lot Rixio for your assistance :D
I noticed the Filler tank had low coolant this morning and there must have been a blockage in the pipe to the AST compartment because the levels were not changing in it when I topped up the Filler tank...

I\'ll go and check the turbo pipes and see if anything is loose...

Which company is the closest to NW London that I can bring the car to? I don\'t want to take a long distance because I think the fuel/air mixture is running lean aswell *sigh*

Thanks a lot for your help :D

Also just wondering... the expansion tank.. is it at all ment to affect the level of the AST then through to Filler tank? I\'m just wondering as I think there could be more blockages o_o as the expansion tank is slightly above full and the filler and AST was half empty in both.

MillSpeed

It\'s not a filler tank, it\'s an expansion tank and filling it up won\'t make any difference to the level in the AST (you\'ll just end up with coolant all over the floor when the engine heats up). You should check the coolant via the cap on the engine.

Joeh

Hi MillSpeed,
Maybe I wrote it confusing...

From the AST there is a pipe which goes to the expansion tank.
Also from the AST there is a pipe which goes to the filler tank....

I was just wondering of the pipe from the AST to the expansion tank had anything to do with coolant levels... I guess it acts like an overflow?

Thanks for your help

MillSpeed

Ahh, I got ya. Yeah, when adding coolant at the filler neck you won\'t necesarily see a rise in the coolant level in the AST. Provided the coolant is always easily visible in the filler neck and the AST then you should be fine.

Joeh

ok thats great, thanks a lot for that MillSpeed :)

If your running a stock ecu then AFR\'s should be fine as long as your not running 95 ron and hammering it...id recommend Hayward Rotary in Newbury, not too far and Carl is a top guy...

Ive got a PMS, I think it still runs under the standard ECU right? I also need a guide how to get optimum setting... D: I\'ll google it a bit.

Thanks for the recommendation, I\'ll get in contact with carl before I go down there :D

m4drx

how did you get on Joeh? any luck with it, mine is doing the same i think except seems the opposite - running way too rich.

be good to know how you got on as i\'ve just kind of lost hope
fduk.

I haven\'t solved it yet, I\'m just sorting out the cooling... it could have been majourly overheating or water not being able to get to the engine or something, not sure but I hope this works :o

Adding a FMIC and larger Alu Radiator... Water Injection cooling aswell, then I\'ll check everything... I may take out the engine to check the water seals while everything is in pieces (as it is atm).
