Do you have 2600 or 2400 or 1300 or 654x2 on the log book?

I think you can get the reduced rate if you have 1300 or less on the Log? if its a UK car you most likly will have 2400cc then Grinder\'s Prices will be correct.

Do a search as there was a way you can change the cc of your car on your Log and pay the lower cc price for Tax :)

grinder

im convinced that its a myth about changing it - there has been very few proven cases to be honest

and i think the DVLA are trying to close the gap :(

i might not be 100% right but i have heard it somewhere

Yeh i did it when i bought the car. I just got a RX7 sales leaflet of E-bay and sent it whit a Note saying the Rx7 was 1300cc (check the Mazda sales) and it came back with 1300cc on the Log? Simple as that. Anything to save a bit of money (The Grinder philosophy :))

I\'m not sure how you would go about doing it if you\'d had the car for some time?

grinder

the grinder way is the best way !!!

heard a few people fail doing this - nice to see your managed it chris :D

and MR Pringle - hows the cars coming along ??

Yeh me too, i guess i got them on a good day.

g.miller

The car i bought from Luke a wile back had had an engine swap and when he told the DVLA the new engine number he also said the engine was 1300cc.

i have just sorned the car and while i was doing this i asked how much the tax would have been, and i think she said £105 [thats a big saving] so check your engine number is the same as the log book and if not you know what to do!:Ladys-man

I was under the impresion that Rx7\'ns where one of the few cars not to have an Engine Number on the engine?

Do you know where to look for it? My Fd\'s log says the engine number is Unknown?

g.miller

T11 engine numbers start 13B*******, no idea where it is though, will have a look this afternoon if no one has posted the location up for you.

Well i had this problem becouse my Uk spec T2\'s have an Engine number on the Log but there isn\'t one on the engine, My Import FD has no Number on the engine and no Number on the log?

I guess this is why it was easyer for me to get the CC changed?

I have rebuilt quite a few motors now and tbh i\'ve not noticed a Number? Unless the Engine number is on the Body some where?

Grizzly

Ok, I\'ve got it, (on an FD) its under the lifting o

Its Stamped into the Front Plate, You have to realy look for it and it starts with a letter then 8-9 numbers.
