Does anyone know how much change in power will occur over the years as the compression in a Rotary engine slowly becomes lower. For example say a rebuilt engine is pushing out 400rwhp, how much will it be pushing out say after 45,000 miles when the compression is less ...?

depends really, i dont think there is a calculation. clarkson done a test a while ago with 3 old supercars, they lost loads

Have howevr found that a new motor will \'loosen up\' and run like the clappers, then after some miles it will show no gains or loss ,then slowly the power decreases.................:cheers

It\'s probably quite a direct colleralation with compression. It probably not as much as you think though. Mine is pushing 50k with compression in the high 6\'s. It still puts out over 310 at the wheels on stock twins, that always amazes me anyway :)
310 atw. Stock twins. Mazdaspeed GT-Concept.

but surely the fact that you have less compression means that you can run more boost and therefore make more power :)
