I\'ve done a quick search on this but I can\'t find any info

I need to get the exhaust housing off the primary turbo , I\'ve split the tubs down but I can\'t get the housing to split , as far as I can see its a friction fit once the bolts and retaining bars are out but I can\'t get it to split , I\'ve tried hitting it with a block of wood and hammer , prying it and even rotating it but nowt , how the hell do you get it off ????

Only thing I didn\'t try is applying heat is this the answer or do you need some sort of puller or just a bigger hammer ????

Hi

Struggled with lots of turbos myself, but not from the rex. The stuff you\'ve been trying is my normal approach.Try some heat from a butane torch, or maybe put the whole thing in the oven at the highest you can get it for a few hours and try again. I find that spraying some WD40 right in the joint after you\'ve heated it sometimes helps. Good luck! I\'ll be doing this myself fairly soon, so I\'d be interested to know how you get on.

heat or tap it with a small hammer lots of time all the way round........ but not after youve sprayed it with wd40
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Tintin

stuck a bit of heat on the primary and it practically fell off , secondary came off nice and easy
