Hi Mate,

I had the same issues about 2 years ago, struggled to find a seat that would fit in the rex mate. I thought about trying to designer a specific seat for the rex, but considered the safety implications.

The bottom section comes without much difficulty,I had mine out a couple of times to fit some sound proofing in it. Top section gets removed 1st. From memory there is four bolts in the boot which you remove and that allows the top section to be removed, the bottom section is clipped in place (all from memory).

If you have any luck with a child seat then let me know

Only solution is to put the kid in the front seat and put the missus in the back !! :rollin

ok i removed rear seats and still no luck :(

looks like you might have to modify a rear seat out of another type of car,or make up a metal frame to fit the seat too

You\'ll struggle mate, i tried all sorts of different alternatives..good luck though

How old are your kids, because the rex rear seats are effectively child seats anyway. When I first got the Rex my youngest was 3yrs 6 mths old and just sat in the back with the seat belt fastened. If your kids are younger than that.... might just need a cushion to sit on...;) :D
FD or not FD? that is the question.

Heres what I did..

remove that rear seat, and then put the child seat on top of the transmission tunnel. Now use the belts from the rear seats on both sides.

My only concern was my little boy was quite close to the roof, so I made the belts bl00dy tight.

or do what i did and buy a family car instead and use rex as a play toy lol
hope you get it sorted as thats one area you dont want to cut corners or botch up
