how come the fans don\'t stay on after you switch off the ignition..surely this would help to bring temperatures down after you stop even if the water/oil isn\'t being pumped?

I pulled up last night after driving gently (over speed bumps!) for the last half a mile from home, ran the engine for a minute or so. Went into the house, went back down a couple of minutes later as I\'d left my phone in the car and the apexi was showing water temperature of 123 deg. I then sat with the ignition on (fans running) for 3-4 minutes and the temperature slowly dropped to below 120 deg but eventually I had to leave it!?

Firstly, is this normal? and secondly, how would a turbo timer help?

That\'s the way the standard fan setup works, they only run whilst the car is on...

Found out that the one I have was fitted with fancy rubber heavy duty double sided tape. Found out when it fell off.
Any idea where I can get some fresh tape from ??? It\'s about 2" wide and you need about 3" of it

Like mine i use the same method as grizzly to cool mine down...leave the fans on to cool the rad water and then turn it on again...best way iv found with all this overheating BS iv been through the last 3 months!
