Last time i added it up was end of 2001 and it was 50k then inc original car purchase.5 years on and i reckon its the same again if not more so around the 100k mark.

OOOOH how scary is that.........plus i havent driven it since May 04

richard cash

mines about 14K so far and owned it for about 6months. Bought the car for £6K and spent the rest on rebuild and mods. I justify it by reminding myself its less than the top of range ford mondeo and a whole lot more fun :)

100k!!! Holy ****!!!
So what does that get you then? Must look amazing. Any pictures? Why you not driven it for so long?

I think including buying the car i\'\'ve spent around 15k. Rebuild, ecu and mapping, problems here and there and a few mods. Soon adds up!!

R Cash, completely agree with your thinking there bud. Why people settle for a 1.8LX Focus for the price of some japanese exotic machinery is beyond me ;)

Well, at least you guys can buy the cars cheap overthere.
Here in Belgium I paid over £2000 for my first gen. It needed a sprayjob, and came without engine... I stopped counting LONG ago. But I do remember I payed about 1200€ (£800) for my TII engine ( after using a good strong 12A for two years first), the paint job was cheap at £600 (did all the prep work ourself), there are new Potenza\'s at the rear ( in 15" 225 tyres are not expensive: about £75 each), custom interior (about £200 in material, work done by my mother), Wolf 3D ECU was 500€ (£330) used, coilpacks were £130, fuel pumps over £300 (SX high pressure, Holley blue low pressure), Speedflow braided hoses for over £200... You get the picture.
All in all I spend over £7000 (probable nearer to 8500) on my car, it\'s still not finished, and it\'s just a first gen...
I could have gotten an FD for that money in the UK!
