you`ll need the polishing kit, consists of 3 wheels, and wet n dry paper lol.. grade 120, 240, 600 and 1200..

the plenum a take a while to do buddy cus its ruff metal,, needs to be baby bum smooth before you can polish it.. start with the 120 grit paper and work your way up to the 1200, then use the 3 mop process and polish it up..

Iv used the wet n dry and then a car polisher with g3 compound to polish metal, both ways work :)

hope this helps ya..

ive just spoken to company about 30 miles away from me so i\'m off there with all the rougher castings from my car on Monday after work. He will give me a quote then for the work as he has not seen any rx7 bits before so will post up the costs tuesday.

As a guide i asked him how much to polish an alternator as they are a fairly standard size to most cars and he said 10-15 quid which to be honest isnt worth me spending 4/5 hours on myself

Got my kit though from Demon Tweeks today. Has many different abrasive and polishing mops or different sizes too. Abrasive compounds are 80, 150 and 300 (i think). Then 3 different polishing compounds too. Is the same kit as you get form The Polishing Shop... link above.
Hope it enough to get the finish i\'m after. :D

Been polishing stuff for a while.  I use a kit recommended by a friend, from Frost UK, the kit is spot on and a lot better than a few cheaper kits that you can get.  You get 3 abrasive mops and 3 abrasives and then 3 polishing mops with 3 polishes.

here\'s the link:

I\'ve sorted three sets of wheels, intercooler pipes, induction hard pipes and manafold.  Worth noting though that the longer you spend on each item the better the results!

Ooooo, and you can also buy a home anodising kit!  Now that sound like a laff!

It would be better to chrome plate rarther than polish imo. Polishing stuff yourself saves money but you have to keep on top of it otherwise it will go dull and look crap. If you could put a clear laquer on top it would prob keep it looking nice. Chrome plating can be quite expensive but is less work keeping it looking good.

The trouble ive had with laquer is that the heat can turn it yellowish and it can look abit grim then.

Chroming would be nice but you would still need to get the parts polished first in order for it to look good.

A mate of mine had some parts Nickel plated which looked cool but did say that its soaking heat up a bit.

Thats exactly the same kit the you get from Demon Tweeks and they get it from the Polishing Shop. Has their name on the leftlet you get with it.

Started my Plenum today. The abrasives all do a good job, once you can get them to stay on the mops, but the mops are all a little to big (even the small ones) to get into all the difficult areas. Might need to invest in a Dremel and some tiny bits to get right in to the tight spots.
Also put some chrome indution pipes on today. Look really good, but had to be cut up a bit to fit properly. Another Ebay special ;). Found out the original bottom rubber pipe had loads of holes in, so getting better induction now :)
Might put some pictures up of plenum and indution pipes tomorrow if i can.
