shouldnt be an overly difficult task that i can see but normally there are a few tips that only experience can give so id thought id ask before i take my engine out. Are there any hints/tips to removing the engine and and difficult bits. Lots of the vac. nest is removed because its a single turbo conversion. It looks simple from the engine bay now but i had to ask.

how much of the engine can remain intact when i hoist it out, do i have to remove the water system or alternator and ancillaries etc or can it all come out in one go.

Im guessing it should only take a day to remove it between 2 people.

any and all help is appreciated, i need my baby back on the road ASAP.

Doing mine today with G@ndy, tips would be good but think it should be fairly simple to be honest. :)

About 4 blocks of C4 will remove any engine. :D

get a flexible headed socket wrench for undoing the bell housing from the back of the engine, there are 4 bolts and i think 2 are obstructed by the bulkhead around the top.
Try and leave as much on the engine as possible, as it is much easier to remove it all once the block is out of the bay. (doesn\'t weigh fduk all anyway) You will be able to leave the turbo\'s in place, all the piping and wiring on top of the engine, LIM, coil packs can stay in place too.
Undo the loom from the ECU and the gearbox and let it come out with the engine.
You will need to remove the AC pump and PS pump, dont disconnect the systems, just undo the pumps and tie them up out the way with the piping still connected. The PS pump has a bolt behind the pulley wheel, you need to use a belt to wedge the pulley tight so you can undo the bolt holding it in, otherwise it just spins.
Don\'t forget to undo the clutch!

Thats about all i can think of. :)

Its out :D we hit a few problems, my tip for the day is not to leave the long bolt in that holds the starter motor in, it also goes through the block and gearbox and will bend if you try to remove it with the bolt in making the job a right pig to do... We knew that before we started off course ;) :D:2Confused :evillaugh

good to hear things are looking positive :)
