I was speaking to an importer today and he was saying that it\'s near impossible to get a fresh import younger than 97 (if i remember correctly) The dopes at VOSA won\'t pass them due to loads of factors: emissions, Crash tests, etc.!! and also the prices have gone up a fair bit due to russia joining in on the imports which has bumped the price up, hence having a knock on affect raising the prices of vehicles already imported!!! (same story for skylines, pajero\'s etc.)
So there are going to be slim pickings on an FD in the age bracket you are looking!!

Bit of a highjack, I was just wondering how many ppl on here have post 97 cars.

Mines late 98 and it sounds like I should keep it for a while longer [not that I\'m considering selling it anyway]

I thought there was a poll on here about this, but can\'t find it, maybe I was thinking about something else. Would be interesting to see - maybe poll the board on the 1st digit of the chassis number (eg FD3S3 or 4 or 5 or 6 (was there a 1 or 2??)) and see what the distribution is. Registration year is reasonably accurate, but can sometimes be misleading - I remember when looking for our current FD, we saw a new import which had been registered as a 52 plate, but the chassis number was FD3S5 - dating it to 99/00. Just a thought anyway.....

Quote from: snowy87Thanks Mims, Yes i know the car you mean, and i was very interested. Unfortunately it was very overpriced for a repaired car. If the price was sensible i would still be interested. Cheers, Ken

It was a accident damaged car and they are askin 25k?! wow. lol

Just a bit of advice, if you get a car after 1995 onwards, you will need to keep it as standard as possible. MOT rules have RECENTLY CHANGED regarding later RX7\'s and they get the same treatment as everything else. Its not easy to get a modded 94 car though, let alone a later one where they have to have a full cat test.

not sure if the 5th digit refers to Series or not, but the official RX7 series line up is:
Gen1 78-85 S1(SA22), S2 & S3(FB3S)
Gen2 85-92 S4 & S4 (FC3S)
Gen3 92-02 S6, S7 & S8 (FD3S) post 99 cars were Series 8 I believe
