I have just spent this weekend finding out how much rust had been covered up on my rex, and it was bad news all the way. What started as wheel arch repair and tailgate leak. The body shop has also found corrosion on sills and chassis and will cost about a grand.
I have spent the evening trying to decide wether to buy a welder and do it myself or give up and look for another car, knowing that once I start it will only be more bad news. One good thing was that on the way home this evening, was the first time I had really given the car serious welly, I\'m not sure which bleeped more me or the car.

thats a real shame :( ... hope you find a good shell/car to replace it, there seems to be a fair few around lately.

Thanks for the offer riber, can you PM me with info about welder. At the moment I am toying with looking for another car or buying a welding set and doing it all myself, although I haven\'t done any welding for 20 years, I am sure it wont take long to get my hand in again.

Hi Dave,

The Guy\'s name is Bill Macpherson and his number is 01373 822658 or 07836 527035 he is based in Westbury Wiltshire same as me and he has a workshop at his house as well as being mobile he has done welding for me and done an excellent job at a good price if you tell him Paul recommended him I am sure that he will do his best to keep his price fair and it will definetly be way better than your current quote in fact what I did to speed matters up was to strip and cut out and prep the bad areas for him which also helped to keep the price down so might be worthwhile for you to do the same

Let me know how you get on

with regards,

Paul
