Looks interesting ;)

I plumped for the Emanage Ultimate in the end - got one from the US nice and cheap - just trying to figure out how to map it all.

From what that add describes, this unit sounds like it does exactly the same job - it\'s a tad cheaper though :) - fully Grinder compatible :Giggle

I\'m bringing the 720cc injectors with me - so you can have a closer look.  :cool

For that price it can\'t be a full ECU? The Haltech units are v expensive.(the E8 & E11) but apparantly very good, don\'t know of anyone in the UK using Haltech though

Mark ,

it a piggy back but mapable - so its not really a FULL ECU if that makes sense

I\'m sure I said it before ;) Martin Sintler runs Haltech on an FD with a GT35/40.

what the Emanage like - can you prog via a laptop , does it retain stock harness , can you leave a laptop plugged in and see on the screen whats giong on ( like the microtech or the PFC Commander ) ?

saying that - i will quiz you about this on monday if i can find you !! LOL

MMMM I had a Haltech for a While (E6K and a E11) But i had problems tuning them :( (but i did get one of the First E11\'s that i had nothing but problems with)

Then again it was a few years ago!!

The main reason i went from Haltech to Microtech to PFC is finding a Tuner that Has Experiance enough to get good figures with them and i wanted a OMP driver.

With my FD it was not even somthing i thought about, I went for PFC over all the others becouse every one and his dog is tuning them so if i have a problem and need to get back up or Knolage is not an Issue + its plug and Play.

Thing is with new stuff make sure there is some one out there too set it up for you........ TBH mate i would be looking very closly at the Microtech\'s as Pip is near by and Very clued up on them....

grinder

yeah i know matey !!

the microtech is the way forward - i just like keeping my eye on other things :D

Sorry we didn\'t get chance to natter about the eManage - you can leave the stock wiring in place and by a harness called a \'Boomslang\' which pulls out all the required links for your make of motor.  There is one for the FC I believe. - The harness has plugs and sockets to go between stock ecu and the car\'s harness.

You can leave the laptop in, but the ultimate also allows you to monitor and save upto 8 variables for about 30 minutes.  So you can to A/F ratio, RPM, boost, I/j duty cycle, temp, and so on.

Ideall for mapping the car, as you can just set the emanage to monitor everything without altering any settings, then just drive around for half an hour and save all your fueling data.  Load it all up into Excel and then see where the map is rich or lean with your current mods.

I got it for £370 including the harness, duty, postage and import tax !! - closest I could find here was £480.

A programmable is defo the way to go if you are going beyond the standard exhaust / intake mods, as the rommed ecu\'s are just mapped for specific setups - although I am well pleased with my Blitz Access - it flattened out the torque curve big time, and has some other nice bits like built in FCD and no rev limit.

BTW - I picked up the intake temp probe - Rotechniks had a spare one, so I shall be working on my prototype intake temp guage!

Blitz access was a fixed mapped ECU replacement - looks just like the old ECU, except for a sticky label on the top plate.

Inside they are identical, just the ROM is changed.  Found a site suggesting these were originally £600 !  :)

Blitz Access - scroll down a bit - click info

Not bad for a £100 on Ebay, and it\'s specifically mapped for intake, exhaust and decat.

Yep - if the ROM was socketed I would have duped it - it\'s easy enough to cut the legs off the old chips and solder a replacement in, but I would not fancy unsoldering one in case I buggered the thin tracks on the PCB.

Still it\'s illegal to copy software for another individual to use - but the intention was to make a backup ECU with the same chip in it.  :yes

I would recommend ebaying for one of these mapped aftermarket ECU\'s though, as they come up quite frequently - I searched for FC3S/worldwide.

Brett found one as well, which is in his old car.
