does anyone have 6x9 speakers fitted in the rear. I have speaker grills with holes but theres no mountings for the speakers. Is there anywhere i can get some?

Also where do you all put your earth wire from the back of the head unit? my radio lead has a seperate earth, i also have a lead coming from the space where the radio goes and a bloke tested it and said its an earth. So i put the earth wire into this lead and it drained the battery.

Hey Matt

I have the same situation, have grills but nothing behind them to mount any speakers to

Maybe Ross (EvilRotor) has some ........................

My car came with speakers in, but they were really torn. Found some Kenwoods that fitted. They are an odd size, I think 5x7 or something. Search the Kenwood site, and look for Mazda and it should give you a list of options.

be carefull...

you will need !!! 6x8 !!! speakers for rear !

this speakers are seldom in EU, but common in US. You can buy an adapter (mostly sold for Ford Mondeo). With this adapter, you can fit standart 16cm speakers.

Best Wishes
Iwan
still remember,
NO ROTOR, NO MOTOR !

When in the states recently I bought a pair of Blaupunkt speakers that should of fit.
Turned out the magnet was a tad too big so it was making contact with the front seat belt inertia reels. The grilles kept popping off.
Decided to refit the old speakers - just to blank off the hole as there is some foam needed between the speaker and grill mesh.
Will have to think about this, as I eventually want to fit something in here. So in the end I cut a couple of holes in the parcel shelf and bunged them in there.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to yank out the door speakers so I could compare them with some new ones. Found that they were an odd shape - similar to a rotor actually. These were mounted with three screws and to get to all three you had to remove a white plastic surround/adaptor thingy. Thought it would be extremely unlikely that I could get replacements off the shelf here in Ireland so reluctantly refitted the originals.
Two attempts two failures.
Anyone who has done this successfully, please post something up here (maybe even model# of speakers installed), as at he moment out of 6 speakers, I\'m only happy with the output of two!! :-(
Cheers

I don\'t know the model of them, but I had JL Audio speakers installed in the doors of mine, didn\'t fit them myseldf but they obviously fit fine

i have changed the front speakers with some infinity 13cm,  they fit ok but u the new speakers are fatter than the original ones so u need to brreak off the plastic barrier so they fit in. Then the holes where the screws go dont match up with the holes in the speaker so u need to drill a couple of holes

Hi,
I went through all this as well.

Kenwood 5" dual mags fit in the doors without mods or ripping out.
And I believe its Kenwood again that do the 6x8\'s for the rear panels.

Steve ;)

davefrith

so what do you mount the speaker to in the rear panels ?

Dave

SteveM

Not sure I never had the rears put in, in the end.

Soz

But the guy who was gonna install \'em said it was an easy job.
