Stu mate,

The Power FC for the Gen3 FD can be spliced into the FC, I know RE:Worx have done it for Antnik and would prob cost less £££ as Power FC\'s for the FD can be had for under £500 quite easily....

Thought you were going for a Microtech any how?? means you can map yourself then...Saving you more dollar (as I know you don\'t like to part with the hard earned :p )
The FC is dead, long live the FD

Prof

That\'s been on before - or at least, that seller has sold one or two of these in the past.

Still seems like bag loads of cash to me. :(

mind you, makes you wander what you can get out of an FC engine though  :evillaugh

In theory with a stock turbo, tweeks to the Fuelling (theres spare capacity on the primary injectors), exhaust and intake mods, and playing with the boost, you could get 300+bhp at the fly.  I\'m guessing that\'s some 250 at the wheels which puts you well into stock FD territory. :)

A friend at work runs a 200sx with 4x550 injectors, and 1.2 bar of boost.  He\'s getting 360 bhp.  The injectors are the same as ours !   :(

not a bad price for a proper FC spec PFC, but I still think that the Microtech or the Haltech are better for the FC. Haltech would be that best bet I reckon (but pricey) and I don\'t think anyone in the UK has mapped one!

Mapping a Microtech is quite easy, one you understand what you are doing and if you have a dash unit, you can do it without a laptop, although I still use the laptop as you can\'t see the a/f graphs on the dash unit

Do you guys know if the Haltech supports the oil metering pump ?

I know the PFC does, and I\'ve heard the Microtech doesn\'t so your left with either premixing or mechanical pump.

I was looking at the new eManage from Greddy - the new charcoal coloured one has a lot more support for the RX7 - both FC and FD, and supports both fuel and ingition timing maps - for both sets of injectors and coils.  Plus you can select 2 switchable tuning maps - one for the road, and one for playime :burnout

It also allows you to tune it with a wideband oxygen sensor, so you just map the A/F ratio\'s you want and the eManage does the rest for you.  All that and USB connection as well (My laptop doesn\'t have an RS232 port!)  :Typing

I am thinking this may be the better route for me, as I don\'t want to make massive extra horse power - just enough to scare the beemers  and S2000\'s  :rollin

i have 2 customers running Power FCs on their FC3S, Highly recommended!

sadgoth

you are right about the OMP, microtech doesn\'t support it, but running premix is a safer way (as long as you remember to add the 2-stroke when you fill up) as if the oil injectors clog or the OMP develops a fault, you aren\'t aware of it until the damage is done.

That happened to me - it costs a lot!  :Grrr

I had ingition leads and oil pump fail, along with an overboosting turbo...

...result was I lost both rotors - 1 set of seals in each.

nasty! That\'s why I wasn\'t too worried about losing the OMP! JUST HAVE TO REMEMBER TO USE PREMIX!

Prof, seriously doubt you would get anywhere near 300+ fwhp with just an ECU and lights mods to the fuelling and exhuast. I am running 310rwhp with big turbo, big injectors ecu etc.

grinder

so 310 rw - is about 380 ish at the fly ( 18% loss )

so he is trying to make 80 bhp less that you .. might be possible to be honest ??

Well i for one for love to see it, bearing in mind a stock TII is 200 fwhp, 100+ hp for those mods would be i believe would be a big ask,  but that iso nly going on the figures i see other people gettin with the mods they have done. If its do-able though, good news!!!

sadgoth

It is theoretically possible, but the turbo is the real problem with the TII, it struggles much past 0.9/1 BAR. The interwarmer doesn\'t help!

That\'s what I had heard.  Turbo is good for upto about 14psi, but the stock intercooler has to go, as it can\'t cope.

You\'ve got another 45% to be had on the primary injectors assuming you max them out at 85% - they will run higher from what I\'ve heard. Stock fuel pump will begin to have trouble as well, so this needs to be upgraded.

And there is the option of going bigger on the secondaries and or primaries - the 720\'s from the EGI apparently fit.

I think with a bit of tuning of fuel / boost, a replacement intercooler, and maybe water injection/misting, 300bhp should be achievable at the fly - but it won\'t be easy.

But then us FC owners seem to like a challenge ! :)

egi injectors ???????????????

errrrrr they are 550 like the TII

the only ones that came with 720 are the 10th anniversay ones ( I THINK ) !
