Hoping someone out there can help me. I\'ve just become the proud owner of a 94 type r. Gave it its first good clean today after a weeks perfect driving after leaving it sitting for over an hour went to start it and everything fires up but the engine just turns over and doesn\'t start.

Modifications are power FC running basemap, twin hks induction, apexi intercooler, thats about it, nothing touched on the turbos or anything else.  Might be my imagination but it seems to me like the FC hand held comander seems to be staying on the apexi welcome screen and not going on to the settings as quick as it did before, when I put the key in the ignition. Could this be causing the problem.  The car has been perfect, nohistory of any problems. It\'s only done 29,000 miles.

I know it is probably soomething simple, but as I am new to the rotary engine, I haven\'t got a clue.

PS.  I put some oil in and spilt a bit around the cap, could this have dripped on anything and cause it not to start.

Please help, desperate to get going again.

Did you start it from cold and turn it back off within a couple of mins,if so its just flooded.Do a search for de flood and it should explain how to get it going again.

Thanks for your reply. No I hadnt run for just a couple of minutes. left it for about an hour before I tried it again and when I put the key in and turned the fc commander went straight to the options screen and did nt stay on the greeting screen and it turned over but died before I could give it any revs. Then it just would not start or even turn over. I tried to tow start it but no luck.I\'m gonna try the de flooding tommorrow only problem being I\'ve got no idea how to get the spark plugs out? Looks very awkward to do from above but I cant get underneath and I know its easier this way.Any help would be great, also does anyone know of anybody in essex who might be able to help if I cant get it goin?

You can do the deflood Jay with taking the spark plugs out. Just whip the 30 amp egi fuse out from the black box next to the battery should be the one in the middle. Foot to the floor on the accelerator peddle crank for approx 10 seconds, then foot off the accelerator wait for about 30 seconds and keep repeating till you see the unburnt petrol stop coming out of the exhaust. May be neccesary to do this about 6-7 times, when you see no more crap (excuse technical term) coming out of the exhaust then put egi fuse back in crank with no accelerator you should hear after a few seconds it sounds like it wants to fire but needs some help then press accelerator pedal which should see it fire up properly loads of smoke coming out of the exhaust and bobs your uncle:D

Thanks Brian, fortunately I left a while and gave it a go and it tried to die on me but I gave it full throttle and crash, bang and a huge flame later and I\'m away.Just a quick one though, the guy I got it from had the airpump disconnected as he said it made a noise like a dying goose and that he got better MPG.The car ran perfectly without it ,no problems. Whilst trying to get it goin earlier I connected it back up and it does sound like a goose, also it seems to be boosting slightly less than before.Although it seems to be boosting correctly as i think it may have been over boosting before. Probably goin to disconnect it again until it goes into Abbey Motorsport in 2 weeks to be mapped and set up correctly.Any thoughts would be appreciated. Cheers.
