should a 13b rotary get to? Running semi synth

alexb

my gauge shows 80oC normal running temp.

antnicuk

normally its very similar to the water temp
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

ok, but what should the max be? Im used to using natural mineral oils which should really hit 100 degrees...

Steve

the lemster

this time of year mine barely gets above 60, if I am in slow traffic it get to about 80 then cools when moving again...

in summer months it sits at about 80 then move to about 100 if stood in traffic but drops quickly to 80 when moving

hope that helps

oooh using either semi or mineral oil... dont really make much difference

depends on the quality of oil, most mineral oils and some cheap semis start to break down at around 110, where as a good fully will remain constant at well above.

dubber91

yeah fully synths dont have the heat dissappation properties that semis or naturals have though do they?

but I doubt the odd degree will save an engine with mineral. You may want to do an oil cooler upgarde if you want to use mineral and are runnig at those temps.
