just after some info really

1 - what difference wuold it make to the car
2 - will it damage it
3 - are they worth fitting
4 - will a 3rd gen one fit a 2nd gen car ( 1990 TII )

im wondering if it will give me any more performace ( torque ) or are they a waste of time

will it damage my engine in any ways

i have heard so many stories ( both good and bad ) - i thought i would ask here !

i know that it stops the engine cutting fuel to the back rotor at a certain point - but what else does it do

Thanks

Stu

( expect about a million and one questions from me in the next few months !! )

Dont bother mate, If you are only going to fit a FCD and rase the boost it wll cause more problems than you would like.

Basicly Mazda put the Fuel Cut there for a purpose (to stop the Engine over boosting and running lean and blowing) you will be taking it off and not replacing that saftey with anything else (such as more fuel).

People dont spend Thousends of pounds for fun, its all about knowing the Limits of the Car/Engine and making it powerfull and most of all reliable.

Do some reading up before you start raising the boost, i would say EMS,Fuel pump and Injectors before you can touch the boost level.

Take it from me i learnt the hard way, they dont take much to blow when you try to cut corners.

I forgot to mention, the FCD does not add performance at all, all it does is remove the Fuel Cut (the thing that stops the engine if you over boost) which in turn is a bad thing as its a saftey device.

People remove these to run more boost but you have to ask how far can you push it over the Mazda Limit before it goes on you?

thanks chris :wave

all i wanted to know is what the thing did

from what you say it sounds as if i better leave the car completely alone !!

i was thinking about the throttle body mod - that was until i read how to do it !!

maybe i should just get the car working and run it as it was designed !!

it just that i have a "friend" who will remain nameless - who is constantly telling me about how much quicker his car is/will be over mine !!

oh well eh !!

Lets get him on the twisties and see what happens !!!

Thanks again

Stu
