I made them simple enough. If you do get stuck, I could talk you in (I\'ve made the journey enough times now!)

:3gears-rh  Do be carefull though, I believe the forecast is cold!

grinder

cold im not bothered about to be honest - if its icy or snowy(ing) - then sorry matey then there is no way im venturing out in the rex

the directions dont loook to bad actually ( he says :) )

but by dinner time - it should have cleared up !

can you email me your home number - its just that if i do get lost - its free to phone a land line - where as about 40p per min for a mobile

Right, I\'m back on the job now (after a 16hour shift)

Gonna sort the starter and exhaust, then it should start today???????????

grinder

speak to PIP asap - and see if he has a set way to start it

i know that someone told me about pulling the egi fuse and then cranking it - just to get some oil round it - but there maybe a better way !

keep us all informed :)

IT\'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it fires, revs, smokes then dies after reaching about 2000rpm.

But I put that down to the exhaust not being bolted on properly and that funny back pressure pipe type thingy not being on. But it\'s dark and I can\'t see a thing anymore!

Oh! And does anyone have a socket that will fit the spark plugs, cause I don\'t?

:yes

grinder

ALIVE - YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !

thats very impressive - did it just crank over no probs ??

i have a plug spanner - not much use - but i thought i would let you know !

get down to halfrauds and buy one - they arent that expensive

who needs a haynes manual - you just need a 11 page thread on here and its no probs :)

It  starts and continues to run, but it revs its nuts off at about 4000-4500rpm! Any thoughts?

Grizzly

Glad to hear you\'ve sorted it, I\'d have come down but i\'m knee deep in bits of T2 myself.

sadgoth

mine seems to have a v high (2500-3k) idle for the first 5 mins its running. but drops to a reasonable 1.5k for the next 10 mins b4 a proper idle. How long is it screaming for?

if you start the car normally it revs to 3000K for about 15 seconds as a heat up facility

if you start it with the clutch in - then it doesnt ! :)

check that you havent got the throttle cable stuck in an open position - check for vacum leaks aswell

i have no idea what the above does - i read it on the yank forum !

GRIZZLY - whats up with your TII ???

I do have the full official workshop manual for the TII here, not a lot of help as I\'m abou 200 miles away I know, but it does have details on idle speed (setting of) adjustment of idle mixture etc.

says here: High Idles speed at normal temp:
things to check are:
a) check throttle valves open smoothly
b) inspect air system for leaks
c)check accelerator cable
d) check operation of BAC (bypass air control)
e) check operation of bypass air solenoid valve
f) check operation of air supply valve
g) check voltage of terminal 3B on Control unit (connect to starter switch)
h) check idle speed
i) check ignition timing
j) confirm fast idle cam releases from roller
k) check operation of dashpot
l) check air flow meter
m) check air bypass valve
n) check fuel pressure
o) check operation of control unit.

long list I know, I have instruction for each of the above if you need them. However if you need them all it may be a bit of time, I do have some work today too! :o
