Poss silly question, can you get the twin tubs to work as one? if yes how much work is involved and what sort of cost?

Cheers stu

I know it\'s possible... not sure how though...

..you can have 2 bigger tubs too.....

Yes. Loads of people do it especially in the usa. its called the \'non sequential\' turbo modification. There was a huge debate on the usa forum on which setup is best. From what i have read you will loose the low down power, but many who have done the modification have said it is better then sequential setup, but on the other hand many have also said that it is better with the sequential setup...i suppose it`s like marmite..you either love it or hate it. Im sure someone on here wil give you more feedback with what its like with the non sequential setup.

The link below is a guide on how to do it

If you have any more questions then visit the usa forum

I had mine done at Hayward Rotary and am very pleased with the results. Boost starts to build at 3k and is on full boost at 4k. Its like driving a small single turbo car, and a lot more predicatable, I dont think I\'d ever go back.

Oh and as a nice little bonus fuel economy will be better round town coz you dont have to drive on boost anywhere.

I did mine myself, love it, would never go back to sequential, makes driving so much easier, and lots more fun.  :)

Just out of interest if you don\'t mind me asking. How much was it to have this done? Does it give you a nice kick in the backside when the turbos spin up? I do like the standard set up and how driveable it is at low revs. Sometimes it\'s annoying having to wait until the 2nd turbo to kick in to get the full power.

I\'m not sure how much it was off the top of my head as I was having some other work done at the same time and also traded in a boost controller. Best bet is to phone Carl on 01635 846598. He does two differnt types of non seq and mine was the cheapest type.

Yeah you get a nice thump at 4k, you\'ll notice it more than running sequentially.

I was worried at first I wasnt going to like it but if your WOT then the chances are your going to be 4k and above on the revs anyway, and from a standing start you can always launch at high revs. Its certainly not slow below 4k but not quite as "perky" as running seq.

Hope that helps.

Has anyone a dyno print out?

Stu.Wilson

Well lots of feed abck cheers to you all, i think i will look into this more on one of the links. Like the sound of better fuel economy round town!! Be great to see a dyno print out.

is there something wrong with your sequential setup then? have you been in a properley working fd with the sequential setup?

RobbieRX-7

Stu.Wilson

Robbie RX7 = Yer my FD running perfect and happy with set up. Was just wondering if any benefit to non-seq, as few people had mentioned it to me.

Have looked at the sites, think prob stay with original setup after all! haha, still you don\'t know til ya look into it, eh. Still this has helped build my FD knowledge further.

Thanks for everyone\'s input and links, see you all soon at RSIII.

Can anyone explain to me how the consumption is improved?

MikeLMR

I guess its because its easier to drive off boost than with the sequentials ?

Yep, you stay in vacuum for longer periods so the map uses the higher up, i.e. leaner fuel cells, up to a later stage in rpm. Same can be said by putting on a single, only problem is you will loose a little bit of power and torque low down, which can be more than made up for up top :cool
