Hello there!

There\'s a small coolant hose going from the back of the water pump housing to somewhere under the inlet plenum. It\'s located under the pressure tank. Where does it eventually go? I have a leak from mine (Made me panic when i saw steam coming from under the bonnet last night!) at the point where it comes out the back of the water pump housing. Seems to be a poor fitting hose clip.

I was just interested about this hose - the coolant pdf doc i have is pretty useful at showing information of coolant flow around the whole engine!

Post up a pic of what you are saying. If it is what I am picturing it\'s  one of two coolant lines that relate to cooling your turbo\'s and is a common fault, if not fixed you will go bang, You need to post pics asap.
Bit of a pain to get at but easy to explain how to do.
NOTE: If it is those hoses ONLY replace with Mazda part pre-formed hoses as they allow the fluid to flow, only a few £\'s not even worth considering anything else.
I will watch for your pics.HTH. :wave

Goes to the throttle body and then to the back of the engine. You can bybass the throttle body if you want.
The hose from the back of the engine is the right size to complete this bybass so you may not need the any new hoses.

Well, i don\'t have a photo unfortunately - I have tried to draw it on the picture here - but it\'s not very good! I\'ll take a better one tonight. It doesn\'t look like a specially formed hose though - i was going to replace it with some silicone hose, as it\'s only about 6 inches long

Ah - Cheers for the reply Ross.

hey nikp
i replaced mine (was loosing coolant and i thought the worst aswell)!
I went to my local motor factors, bought 12" of tube cut it to length (warthog)
yes its a very tight bend but managed to squeeze it on without causing any flat spots. i did have real trouble getting the hose clips back on. in the end i left one off, not ideal but ive been runing like this for 3 months with no more leaks. (dragon) if only i had known that then! oh well, we all live n learn

Nik, get the proper mazda hose.

I replaced both of those hoses, as there are two. One from the top of the coolant filler ( thermostate housing unit ) unit and one from the bottomish left/h/s. It cost me £5 something. Don\'t play with it just do it correct. The cost of a new/rebuild is a hell of a lot more. USE THE MAZDA PARTS on this bit as the heat from the twins in that area is very high and they are made to take that heat. Also make sure you put the rubber overtube cover back over the new pipe DON\'T leave it off. It\'s there to add extra protection from heat. Do the job right and it will be sound, do a poor job and you only have yourself to blame.  :eek
