Boost is up

ive recently changed all my piping on the intake all the way to the plenum to hard metal pipes. ive also changed the I/C for an uprated one.

i am now seeing 1 bar at max chat.

the car has previously been mapped (before the above mods) to 0.8 bar-0.9 bar.

would these mods usually result in additional boost?

i would have expected the apexi power fc to still control the boost to its predefined limits and not let it go above that? am i incorrect??

Apexi is crap at controlling boost, fit a controller.

Might be that you fixed a leak in the process but Gary\'s right - fit an Electronic Boost Controller (EBC).  You\'ll cry if you det from overboosintg!

The Apexi cannot control stock boost let alone raised boost levels. Get yourself either the Profec B or the HKS variant, they are known good controllers and dont cost a fortune.

more salient question is why has the boost increased??  is this really an effect of my piping and IC mods??

Basically, your flow of gasses has been increased which results in more boost.

Also the cold weather we have and the uprated intercooler you now have make your boost higher.

Im mapped to 0.8 bar but in the cold nights/ mornings I can hit 0.9 bar

you right it was Blo*dy cold last night.

wont be boosting till this is done then!
