What offset would be needed to fill the arches correctly on a wide arch RX7 (arches are +50mm on th eback and +25mm on the front). This would be with a 9.5" wheel

I think feed do a plate and stud kit for the  FD\'s to make them fit wide kits. Failing that you need a deep dish rim with a low offset

Ah, now I see why you\'ve referenced my other post about my wide arch kit.

50mm on the back is very wide!  The FEED kit I have increases the rear by only 20mm and the front by 25mm.

Check out this thread: -

for my thought process, calculations and worries over getting offsets right.  In particular, this diagram showing my actual calculations: -

Well I have 50mm spacers on mine with a +50 offset on the rear with 10.5 x17 wheels and 50mm spacer on front with +45mm offset on a 9.5 x 17 but i;m not sure how much wider than a standard FD my car is.

so he could go for a 25 mill spacer and like an et30 offset which would give a similar effect?

from the diagram there chris it looks as though a smaller offset tucks the wheel closer into the car. I thought it was the other way round. Ive seem some TE37 volk wheels with a 30mm offset on a 8.5" wheel. Would this be ok for the front. they are 17" and i was thinking about going for 182 9.5 or 10.0 at the back.

A lower offset does mean the wheel will stick out more.
Compare the lower of each diagram; the front has an offset of 28.65mm and the 9" rim only sticks out 85.65mm from where it is bolted to the hub.  The rear only has an offset of 15.65mm and the 9" rim sticks out 96.65mm, 11mm more than the front.

I remember being confused for a long while and the fact that I was ordering custom offsets that couldn\'t be returned made it all the harder.

It\'s always best to re-check and then check again any offset calculations.  I\'m still confused for a time when I have to revisit offsets!

What made it slightly easier for me was that I had FEED\'s recommendations to go by.

If I was you, I\'d find out the stock setup for 17" wheels on an FD (widths and offsets) and then compare the TE37 spec that you have much the same way as I did in that diagram, then you\'ll be able to see exactly the differences.

That\'s still no guarantee as you need to take caliper clearance into consideration as well.

Ideally, could you try before you buy?

mate. ordered the similar sizing for my Rays wheels and front rubbed even with front wide arch. Go for around 35mm on front and wider cuz 8.5 will look puney with wide arch. had to send mine back and order again doh.

This is personal preference stuff.

Also depends whether you want to be able to lower the car.
What tyres you are going to run and many other factors.

I have seen +25mm with 18x10 +18 with a 30mm spacer.
These stick way out there but look awesome.
You couldnt drop the car though.

I have seen 19x10.5 +0 offset with massively undersize tyres.. only 255 wide streched so the bead was almost ripping off. Car was dropped on it guts and the rim was out side the body but the tyre was inside.
Looked awesome but performance would most

Personally I think about Fr 18x9 +20 235 and Rear 18x10 265 +20 would suit then space them to suit your desire.  50mm rear fenders are very very wide.

This is 18x9.5 +35 ( normal offset )  with 5mm spacer
Tyres are only 255 so are a bit thinner footprint.
I could have slammed the car to the deck

Front is 18x8.5 +35 ( Normal Offset ) with 5mm spacer

But you can see It really needed a rear spacer.

So I added a 30mm which filled it nicely

These te37 rims are 18x9 and 18x10
+12 front and +15rear offset  abit too wide for my kit +20mm all round

rextreme. so with your et37`s with the 20mm wider aches. really it could have done with et being about 25?  ive got the burnout kit coming. thats 20mm wider each side..    i want to drop rex by 1.5" and have 18X8.5 front maybe 19x10 rear..if not 19 then 18x10 instead.. wat et would you recommend???
if i had 8 hour to cut down a tree. i`d spend 6 sharpening the axe

You could find someone with a standard gtr 34. And ask to try a rim on.
They are pretty close to what you need. I think 18x8.5or9 +20 I cant remember
See how it looks and Then go from that.

My car was lowered with HKS hyper dampers so I dont know exactly how much lower it was. Just adjust it to your will. Thats the best way.

Initial-D

I have a wide body kit - 30mm front and about 40mm rear (although the rears have been pulled out more than the original kit so I\'m unsure of its actual additional mm)  Running 18x9J+18 on the front and 18x10J+22 rear with no spacers. They fit pretty much spot on with only the fronts rubbing slightly on the inner rain guard (which I\'ve cut to stop happening).
Cheers
