The time is very near now for my first purchase of a single turbo FD.

There are 3 in mind from this board, loopyonions seems very solid, but its completly standard bodywise. Im looking more closely at either the kermit RX7 from nuspec, click here or theres welsh dans one with a blown apex seal, here  . Now i know that welsh dans is blown but seems to have all the supporting mods to cope with the thick end of 400BHP once rebuilt. Ive spoke to the guys at rx motors and for just under £3K i can have it fully rebuilt and ported.

This is the dificult part as i cant decide between that and the kermit as thats already up and running but at about 350BHP. I know id need a PFC, injectors, rail, pump, FPR, boost controller but then i guess theres no telling how long the engines going to last. Is there much else that will be needed to make 400BHP out of this FD?

I like the bodykits on both and only some subtle carbon bits are needed along with a respray in my choosen colour :yes . So its all down to then engine and whats going to be more reliable and cheaper.

your help and advice would be most appreciated

Both cars are stunning in their own way and well put together and reasonably priced.

Welsh Dan\'s car; You can get the rebuild done to your specs i.e street ported fresh engine with warranty and peace of mind.  The turbo is also looks big on that one and perhaps boys at RX Motors will be able to build an engine according to that.  The list is endless but to start with i will go with fresh ported engine and build your figures from there.  The car looks like as you may not have to upgrade much from what has already done to it.

Nurspec: Also a well sort after motor at a good price with big turbo and all the extras to get that figure.

Both cars are worth a look, dependant on what your input will be engine wise, to find 400+ ATW you need:
1 A strong engine with porting [street port -bridge?]
2 A reasonable sized turbo [TO4 ??? - gt35-40 something along those lines]
3 After market ECU with safe mapping
4 Good exhaust system
5 Uprated fueling [injectors, pump, fpr]
6 A clutch that will take the power
7 A sorted cooling system
8 Some form of uprated induction cooling [FMIC, V mount, Uprated smic, charge cooler]
9 some bracing [engine - drive train]
10 uprated braking \'cause they take some stopping
11 An understanding insurance company :WaveBye
12 The cahooners to drive it :cool

Buy mine: Clicky ;)

OK, not single or 400+ bhp, but 360bhp is more than enough for your first rex ;)
