Hello!!!!

Have been having a search to find any pictures of porting so I can see the difference (size etc)  Not a lot of luck - Does anyone have pictures of there\'s before it was all stuck back together?

I can think of these ports :

Standard ports
Mild street ports
Extend ports
Bridge ports
Peripheral ports
Perry Ports

Cheers  :cheers

Ah brilliant - good link  :wave   So that bridgeport you have then, what\'s it like - idleing, driving, fuel how much extra power do you gain above the mods?

I have a 1/2 bridge in my TII, idle is interesting - hunts between 1000 & 2300 rpm! (mapping helps sort that out) fuel consumption is a bit harsh, power improves a lot, but you need the ancillaries to be upgraded, mine is still running stock turbo - spins up to full boost at 2500rpm - tails off by 5000!

GT4088 turbo   Walbro fuel pump   1000cc injectors   custom V-Mount   Blitz Boost Controller (ok so the boost controller is still to fit)

Loud? Hell yes! :D

Thats a great link .... top marks to the finder  :cheers

So if you had a T51 tubro and all the toys to make it work peoperly and a peripheral ported engine whta sort of grunt would you see..... all mapped up surely that would make one hell of a beast..... Not very drivable though

peripheral porting is very harsh on driveability! Not sure how much more you\'d get over a BIG bridge port which would be more driveable

I have a friend who used to run a PP turbo and he said the turbo helps to make the driveability really good.

I\'ve noticed the majority of the quick ozzy cars run big staged ports rather than bridges. Less overlap to cause tuning hassles and smoother delivery of power throughout the rev range.

Here\'s some info on another PP turbo from a NZ forum....

(Obviously still being assembled in this pic. I think this is ZLAKLR\'s (he comes on here sometimes) brother or something?!)

dyno today, 420HP at the tyres, slipping clutch and at only 7300rpm and 9psi boost!

made 9psi just over 3000rpm, so turbo is a little on the small side (currently GT42) for new target HP for this application so is going to be changed when the engine is run in.
A change to a bigger turbo, cetainly more boost and methanol would hopfully see 900HP (at the engine). Once finaly numbers are achieved, the engine package will be available to buy.

I seem to recall that some of the big bridge ports are surpassing the power outputs of the peripheral ports, I guess thats just because they are legal for the track and most organisations have already banned peripheral ports to try and limit the power.

I guess the exception to this rule would be all motor drag racing and I\'d really like to know what sort of power they are making with a full P-port and modern fuel injection etc.

Judge ITO in the states has recently tuned his semi peripheral port 13b and thats making 310hp at the rear wheels. Apparently theres an areodynamic advantage to be gained by having a small P-port and side ports (bridge ports in this case)
