Quote from: TecVetOk, just to clarify here as people seem to be getting confused as to the point(s) I\'m trying to make.

1)   My original post was to point out the inherent flaws in checking the quality of a rebuild after it has failed. (This matter was raised, the question of porting does not apply to this point)

2)   I’m led to believe that two of these engines were run outside of safe parameters, therefore regardless of the parts used or the quality of the rebuild failure was inevitable.

3)   If you have been charged for new parts then yes they should be present in the engine.  Used parts that are still within tolerance are quite acceptable for further use and I’m led to believe this is standard practise.

The reason I’ve chosen now to respond to a thread is quite simple, there seems to be a real belief in this online community that poor engineering is responsible for these failures when clearly the failures have been caused by the engines running outside of safe working boost and fuelling levels, These parameters being freely adjustable by the user in some circumstances.   When you are aware of a problem you keep off of the boost until it is rectified.
You know that continual use of the car outside of the maximum parameters will result in disaster.[/QUOTE

You know something tecvet...the **** you smoke is bad...give me your postal add and i will send you some real good ****,you can smoke it or bake with it....if that fails ill send you some R40 and then you can get real bro..failing that phone 999 cos nobody can help you

Quote from: TecVetWell it seems that although most of you understood where I am coming from a small percentage did not! I meant to provoke reaction; ideally to make you all stand back a little and see the big picture. For those who are still having difficulty I would like you to imagine what would have happened if Mazda had supplied the engine. Driven, as before with the same setup fuel and boost parameters it’s a fair bet that the engine would be destroyed. Would the finger then be pointed at Mazda?
I am not too interested in the porting issue; I do have suspicions but would like to see the invoice for the job first!

Why would Mazda let a car go out of the factory with a known potential engine failure issue? Oh,that\'s right, they wouldn\'t.Otherwise they certainly would not give a warranty.
It would be logical for a specialist to do the same and exercise the same cautions with their rebuilds.Build quality does also help greatly in the longevity of these engines.
Regards
Carl

A boost controller fault??? that i would like to add hat should have been rectified on one of the 3 or 4 trips i make back to RX Heaven specifically for that raeson that never was? That problem started a few weeks after i bought the car. If it had been correctly set in the first place it should never have hit that high level of boost.

McCarthy was sold the car with the over boosting problem... set up by the vendor... please explain how this can be denied as the vendors responsibility??? Dunno just a thought.

Oldone seems to have the a good point tho, this thread seems to be going sour. perhaps we should let it rest for a while...  :guinness

Quote from: TecVetSorry, I should have clarified.

....By now it would have been been brought up to eye level, the bright intensity of the red dot searing my eyes in the fading light of the day,but the satisfaction of the stalk is so good and the prey is within range......tis only a matter of time ...

I have seen totally innocent men not say a word in court and they have let justice take its course, and i have seen totally guilty men shoot their mouths of in court and let justice take its course..the good thing is, that thing called justice,it only only knows one way...JUSTICE....so let the show go on cos the masses have paid their liscence and are entitled to watch the show until the producers step in ...............
