how much is this going to set me back for a new set (4) and wheres the best place to get them, what brands do people recommend and what are the dimenesios for the tyre that i need?

Red and Single

Best prices I can find are at //www.mytyres.co.uk but you can wait a while for delivery (usually about 2 weeks).

I\'ve always found Goodyear F1\'s to be good, if a little on the soft and sticky side.

Size wise, what size rims are you running ??

I\'ve got eagle F1\'s and can vouch for there dry and wet performance, very nice tyre. Think i read somewhere they are one of the best tyres in the wet?

There is a poll somewhere I think, have a hunt in the wheels/tyres/suspension section

After substantial research I have come to the following conclusions

1. Best tyres for FD\'s are symmetric, as we hurt more in the rain. Assymetrics offer better cornering capacity, high speed stability and comfort against symmetrics which are much better in the rain. Most new tyre manufacturers are movings towards assymetrics
2. Best tyre for FD is in my opinion Bridgestone S03 as it is hard enough to last some time, performance does not deteriorate noticebly over time and has very good dry & wet capacity - the best allrounder, however there are being pulled off the market, replaced by an assymetric tyre (RE050A)
3. Performance wise, the best are the Toyos & Michelin Pilot Sport 2, however these won;t last long as the compound is very soft
4. I recently changed mine, and was in a dilema between Bridgestone RE050 and Continental Sport Conti Contact II - There do not outperform the previous tyres menthioned but are a very good compromise, as they will last much longuer. I chose the RE050A (I am a bit biased on the Bridgestones, after having tried the S02 and S03;s) and am very happy with them
5. The Goodyear Eagles perform superbly at first but, after a year they deteriorate in performance significantly
6. Pirelli\'s are terrible for our cars
7. Yokohama\'s AVS are medium performer

The new M3s come in 18 with Conti\'s and in 19 with Michelin - most drivers prefer the Conti\'s. I have tried all of the above other than the Michelin, Continental and Pirellis
