Dear Editor, Collegues, friends & Motorheads,

After lots of hard work and many years of getting there here is my Modified Mazda RX7?

It is fitted with a 3 litre 24 valve Vauxhall Omega Engine and goes like you know what off a shovel!!!!!

I have attached some pictures for you to look at and it would be great to hear from you there  still some bits and pieces to do including perhaps supercharging at some point!!!!

I hope to take it to santa pod as is at the moment just to see what it can currenty do

I also plan to do some charity runs to raise some money for Revival a local charity that I support and  would welcome any input and advice you can give me.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

With regards,

Paul Ribera

ps Do I qualify for the hall of fame or the hall of shame???

:flamed Hall of shame for sure bad enough putting a boinger in a seven but a vauxhall as well! :flamed

lol, hes joking (well i hope so). Amazing to see what people do to rx7\'s, certainly interesting to see what it gets down the quarter mile. Interesting to see whats faster, a piston engine or the original engine !

Welcome to the club :)

You got it right Shaun, be intresting to see what the reliability is like as from past experience  with vauxhalls they were less reliable than rotarys

an original engine is hardly a fair comparison, the Omega engine is a 90(ish)  design. I think a TII or 13bREW engined 1st gen would certainly be more than a match ... or would a 3rotor be a fair match against a v6 :rollin

Sorry, nice conversion but not my cup of tea at all. For me rx\'s are all about the engine.

shaunwil

how can something be less reliable than a rotary  :rollin. Just joking !

well your bound to be getting a few backs up by putting a non standard engine inside a rotary based car!

top marks on the engineering side of things, doesnt look like an easy conversion. i have driven a 3.2 V6 that was in an omega and it was very fast. I suppose in a lightweight car such as the RX it will most likely be insane!

Welcome to the club!

Are those mx5 rear view mirrors you have used

riber3

#8
Yes it is a bit insane and as for my mirrors they are not mx5 so guess again!!!

And thanks Shaun for your input nice car by the way as for 3 rotors I\' m game if you are LOL!!!

What make of wheels are they - have trouble getting 4 x 114 stud pattern.  I am running 17" rims at the moment but looking for some light weight 15".

riber3

I am on 17\'s also cannot remember the name of the company I used they normally advertise on ebay if I get time later I will check and get back to you

I like the look of those wheels in the zip\'d pics. What are they are where did you get them from?

Thanks.

Don Pamponi

Sweet looking 7.

Where didya get the wide arch kit?

What sort of power does it make?

Would be interesting to put yours up againt mine down the 1/4, as I run a modified 12AT (original Japanese type) engine.  Think I\'m making 230-240rwhp at the mo.

Do like the wide body look you have there tho.
Ignore the purists on this site - I was going to put a V8 in mine before I got this lump.

My advice would be to thrash a few rotaries at the 1/4 and say "Ner ner ner ner ner! mines faster than yours, didn\'t cost half as much, starts every time & wont need rebuilding by 60K!"   :evillaugh
Now with added boost!  :burnout
