What does the diff brace do? Does it reduce wheel hop under hard excelleration?

cheers

Bobfish

No, it eliminates wheel hop under hard Acceleration!

£100 isn\'t too bad - how much am i looking at for delivery? whats the delivery time? thanks

TonyBlair

Silly question; what\'s "wheel hop"?

Cheers

GeckoGareth

you know sometimes when you boot it the wheels spin and then as they start to gain some grip the back end sort of goes bump-bump-bump-bump before finally getting a real good grip ?

Not the best explanation I\'m sure!

cheers

TonyBlair

I think I know what you mean. Not sure if I\'ve experienced that yet.

Its a problem with the trailing arm bushings, they are there to make a comfy ride but all they really do is allow play in the suspension arms in accel/decel direction. What happens is the car starts to spin, and the trailing arm bushings compress, the wheels then actually spin, and the bushings unload - pushing the trailing arms back again, then this repeats.

Basically the wheels wobble back and forth when you accelerate, and its not nice.

You lot must drive your FD\'s like pansys if youve never had wheel hop before!!!!

Not just early FDs - I\'ve had it on my \'02 occasionally when giving it bit of welly from the off!  :(
