Brett

I still win on technical grounds, as the S4 Cab was not designated a turbo II, also the early FC turbos were not badged as TII\'s on the intercoolers, they said \'13B Intercooler\' or summat whereas the TII\'s say \'13 intercooled Turbo II\'  :D

Been doing a bit of work on her today :

    Removed battery tray
  • Removed fan cover
  • Removed and drained radiator
  • Removed airbox and it\'s ducting
  • Got rid of about 15% of the body rust and primed it up
  • Put spare on cause one of the tyres had a slow puncture and gave the alloy a thourough clean.

Im knackered now!!   :D

Brett

Someones had a busy day!!! :D

Almost room for a 26b  :3gears-rh

Yeah it did look simple at first, but when it wouldn\'t come out i just thought sod it, the radiator has to come out too, so I did them both in one go!  :D

Now im going to sound very silly but I came across a poser.  I was trying to take the rear spoiler off.  Undid the 2 screw\'s that have a little weather cover above, the 2 nuts in the middleish, the t caps you just turn off but it wouldnt come free!!

Had a look in the big book and thats all that is listed!  But on mine there are another 2 fastenings.  The one on the right rear corner was wasted anyway and just wasn\'t doing anything, but the other one I have no idea how to make it let go! I even got my hand up inside but could not find a nut to undoo??     Any ideas?

Brett

I tried once befor to get the spoiler off of my EGI, its a mare :(  I gave up becasue it was too much of a fiddle.  If you remove the rear panels inside the boot you should be abloe to get a torch in there and see whats what.

Hoping to get stuck in on the weekend and remove the alternator, airpump, remaining belt and see what im left with  :2Rolleyes  (oh then I gotta start my x-mas shopping  :chat )

The car has virtually 116,000 miles on the engine which has never been rebuilt and has been run on fully synthetic oil for the past 11 years. So I was going to take it out before it damages any housings (hoping they\'re not too worn already) and TRY to rebuild it myself.

The engine will only start if cranked for about 3-4 seconds with full throttle to cut fuel supply.  Im assuming this is low compression.  Plus with 15 years and all those miles I would like to get the bay cleaned up a lot!  :bandit

And with the porting DVD out soon it could be too tempting  :Laugh

Sounds like you\'re going to have a busy xmas break then :D

Thought I would stick up a couple of bad quality photo\'s!

This is what she looks like at the moment.  Nothing major has been done yet.  Too cold and wet so just concentrating on moving the engine bay to the boot!  ;)

Went out yesterday with a plan!  I wanted to get the front on axle stands, get the undertray off and undo the gearbox. Which I didnt do!   :Hammer

My axle stands are actually ones that they use to hold challets (sp?) up so are a little bit taller so try as I may I just couldnt jack the car up enough to get them under. I even tried putting \'items\' in the jack to give it a bit of lift, but nothing was suitable.  :3Confused

So while the car was up in the air I had the front right off and gave the arch a damm good going over to get all the spiders and cobwebs out    Gave the disc a re-condition and cleaned up the wheel. Also thinking braded hoses to be a good idea :)

Into town today then to get some smaller axle stands (if anywhere is open!  :King )

LMAO!!! Ah, that\'s quality! I can\'t tell you that im doing a double engine monster!!  20b in back and 13b upfront to make it 4 wheel drive!

Sorry, it\'s just the best place to store all the bit\'s I have taken off!  I\'m off to the shops to get my stands now.  Gonna strip the bonnet of paint and primer and then seal it for when I get my paint!  Then its the sunroof and both wings!

grinder

ahhh i thought you was MOVING stuff into there - like the battery and such like DOH !!! :D
