New REG number

i just love the DVLA...Sent the Rx2 papers away about 10 weeks ago ....this was to get a new reg number for the lil one....my patience runs out and Ang offers to phone on my behalf today as i was going to be a lil busy.....the pleasant DVLA person says cos you not the registered keeper/owner no information may be given.....after some nice words they did say THE PAPERS HAVE BEEN PROCESSED AND SHOULD HAVE IT IN THE POST IN TWO DAYS.. :rolleyes:  Ya right. :rollin  heard that before somewhere.....however if they are RIGHT..... :god  I will be chasing and antagonising every PLASTIC, DECALLED,ASTHMA PUMPED JAP IMPORT from here to Portsmouth   :cool .....it will be a case of "o honey ill go to Tesco\'s for you....in Southhampton... :rollin .I amd so happy really with the news i could ****.. :evillaugh

I hoght these words were to good to be true !!!!!! :reallymad ...Have phoned them for twice in two weeks to check the progress as many weeks have passed and Im getting a lil cagey......to quote " Sir i can see something has been done on the computor relating to your papers", :wiggle (i thought the transaction has been done ?) "BUT....i cant find any of your paperwork now" :eek    "they must have been sent\\mislaid\\lost " :eek  but "i will look into the matter and call you "...Its been a few days and no tele call.....the prob is they have all the papers now and i only have copies !!!! I THINK I AM GOING TO LOSE IT AND DRIVE TO THE LOCAL OFFICE\\OR TO WHERE THE PAPERS ARE SAID TO BE....The world is going to freeze over before i can get on the roads OR its going to be summer again......I am gutted lads... :guinness  :guinness  :guinness  :guinness ...starting to feel better

Swansea is a differant place to what i am used to..... :yes ...the people talk diff and dress diff...As we all know,to get anything done you have to look the person in the eyes and speak to them nicely,if that fails you look his sup in the eyes and speak nicely to her,if that fails YOU LOOK HER BOSS IN THE EYES AND THREATEN HIM THAT EVEN HIS GOLDFISH ARE NOT SAFE ANYMORE,... .....they give you a cuppa and a sandwich and proceed to do WHAT THEY WERE MEANT TO DO MONTHS AGO.....just issue you with a new reg number and some docs....HOWEVER....red tape does take time and their computors run on PARRIFIN and valves !!!! :rollin ......." 7 to 10 days Sir and the paperwork will be through your letterbox"....."failing that" i said to the person who\'s eyes were as big as a raped owl\'s " "this grey beard silverback will be back and not be so understanding".... :eek trying to put on my best intimidating posture. :mad: Sneaked out the building before security got wind off my whereabouts,got in the Beast and took a leisurely drive home smoking a well deserved Havana.......from the chronicals of the OLDONE :rollin .(tbcont)...

I\'m sure you could find the address of these people "with your connections"
and pay them a nice visit at stupid o\'clock in the morning just to check that they havent forgot about you

Xmas has come early for me today.....I GOT MY STUFF BACK FROM THE DVLA..... :cool .....UNTIL.....i opened the envelope: :eek .A covering letter is what you stare at with a whole list of items still needed by the DVLA... :2eek .
Amongst the items wanted were some info from H M Customs,original vehicle reg papers,and a letter from the manufacturer stating and authenticating the vehicles age.I HIT THE ROOF.... :2Mad ,.....after all the BULL**** fed too me by the DVLA over the last few months I was now ready to do my RAMBO bit and get nasty.
However I thought better of it as blowing up buildings and beating defenseless chair warmers might attract attention to me !So I made a call to the importers of my personal goods at Dartford,explaining what i need from them......the answer quote"all the information you require is in a porti cabin in our backyard,as that office has closed down,that particular office worked on a manual system(no comps in 1st world country ?) so we would have to go through a lot of paperwork for you.All the files in the porti cabin is destined for our archives so it may take time to go through it all "  :Hammer
The info i need is the Customs entry number for all the goods.Thought id be clever and phone Customs to get all the info as i needed to phone them anyway........this is what transpired..
Explain my situation to this customs officer(lady),absolute no prob,puts in details and BANG the can of worms open....... :Nono! ...The vehicle was brought in a tempory thingy,the time limit has expired and the finest are on their way to impound the car,ask for some money + interest + storage for impounded car of course. :xconfused ,i should have let them know that it is now a permanant import.Ignorence of the law is no excuse.
Now the **** has hit the fan completely,this good lady says if i can get some more info from the importers then the case would be refferred to the Personal Transport Unit and they will help me sort out the probs NO CHARGE (they extend the tempory thingy),just a few forms to fill in thats all.BUT we all know what the importers have to SAY.
So to recap :
A. The Release Unit is off my back and the car will not be impounded.
B. The problem will be dealt with by the Personal Transport Unit once they  get my letter and all other documentation asked for.
C. Customs do not keep your origanal documentation,they return it to you.
D.The importers\\shipping company KUENE & NAGEL are pathetic as they have \'lost\' all relevant info to my case.i.e.tempory import ref number,customs entry number,all original docs relating to car.
E .Customs are willing to search their database for when and where vehicle entererd country,what forms i completed with customs,etc..then issue the local DVLA office with all documentation.
F. Then only can I reapply for a new REG NUMBER....(means filling in all the releveant DVLA forms AGAIN)
G. Customs estimated waiting time 3 months,DVLA waiting time 3\\5 months.
F. Never get excited over something you have no control over,never believe   a chair warmer when they promise you something.

I might as well break the lil one and use her bits and pieces for the Rx7 as its gonna be a long time before she can used on the road,rather have a car i can use daily and race than something that going to cost a lot and not be used.

There are lessons to be learnt here...I LEARNT THEM THE HARD WAY..... :Grrr

Yeah thanks Sadgoth,I was just so peed off yesterday,spent 2.5 hours on the phone to the importers\\shipping agents and Customs.Thank G... I had this absolute brilliant young Scottish Customs officer helping me.Personally I think she went beyond her duties to help me cos she realised I was in the smelly poo.
I have chilled now,wont touch the 2 except cleaning her for for Thursday\'s photo shoot.
