You are going to put a rotary in that???  :xconfused  :xconfused  :xconfused

I\'m a big fan of decals but not a fan of pink on cars

why rotary???? couple of reasons. At the moment i have the above impreza and my RX7, now i have more of a love for the rotary engine as opposed to the RX7 shape, and no im not saying they look bad they look amazing. But deep down i\'m a scoob person and no matter how hard i try to convince myself otherwise i keep gonig back to the dam things!!!!

Now to build a flat 4 lump upto 470-500+ bhp you have to spend at least 5k on the bottom end alone, and if you want to that properly you\'d have a balanced billet crank that that by its self is nearly 2k! On top of that 5-6k you have injectors, motec ecu, porting polishing head work, cams, big gt03/40 turbo thats all anothr 4k or so.... And by this point you haven\'t even looked at the weak drive chain the scoob are haunted by!!!! With the rotay, buy a second hand blown engine 500-600quid, reuild upto 3.5k, big single turbo and fueling... you get the picture its cheaper and the rotary is a far more efficent engine(less machanical loss). Also if the scoob bottom end went for any reason it would cost twice that of the rotary to repair.

I have i 2004 6 speed gearbox going in in the next couple of months. 4 wheel drive gerabox linked with a 400+bhp rotary engine in a lighter chassis sounds like a great track car to me. That is about it to be honest, and its something i have wanted to do for a long time.

That project is going to be something else!!  :cool Keep us posted on your progress mate!

Would imagine there will be less weight at the front end in the rotary lump might effect the handling..are you going to go all out stripped track monster or everyday/occasional track use route?   :wave

McCARTHY

yes the rotary sits much futher back than the EJ20 engine as you say it should make for imense (excuse the spelling im in a rush on the way out!!!) handling.... also because the frontal area of the impreza is so much larger it means bigger intercooler and rad. I\'ll also change the rear wing to a carbon GT style (oh i\'m getting shouted at to leave now!!!) carbon bonnett and boot lid. The interior is already stripped as below, but it does ahve some seats!!! I thort they were a bear minimum!!!!!

cool mate, keep us posted on the project, would be very interested to see the results!  :cool
